Porsche Crest Porsche on History Channel

Just saw an add on the history channel for a show about the turn of the century Porsche hybrid car. Comes on Friday night. Didn't catch time (feeding my face). It will be sponsored by Porsche so it must be a pretty good plug for them.

You mean this one?

The 1899 Lohner Porsche, the first Hybrid Vehicle?

"
Jacob Lohner & Co in Vienna, Austria produced electric cars from 1898 to 1906.
Ferdinand Porsche, one of Lohner´s employees developed a drive system based on fitting an electric motor to each front wheel without transmissions (hub mounted).
Vehicles of this type were known as Lohner-Porsches. "

What goes around comes around.

The front unit was 4WD, all 4 wheels powered by a motor powered by a generator in the front car. Each "trailer" plugged into the one ahead of it and each of its wheels were powered. It would go over and through anything, but its very slow speed (top speed approx 20mph) made it vulnerable to a then new technology - an aerial assault by fast moving planes.

Do they have a segment in the show where Porsche finds the Sepia Brown paint that was left over from WW2 in a shed in back of the factory?

I guess I'm going crazy. I know I saw the add but I can't find it listed on any schedule either. Maybe it was for another channel other than History. I'll keep looking!!
