I just got home from taking my kids out. My wife stayed home and said we were busy. At the time of this post, we have 7 pieces of candy left. We had about 30 kids this year. Last year we only had about 5, but a lot of families have moved into our area this past year.

Zero, but I live in a gated community of only 25 homes. Two families have little kids, and I'm at the end of the Cul-de-Sac with a 300 foot uphill driveway, so the effort:return factor is very low.

Easy 75-100 kids.
Was worried I'd run out. John down the block was passing out Hurricanes to the adults. The Stevens across the street brought their mule and trailer from their deer lease for hay rides around the hood. Packed it in when the leeches started showing up. People from way outside our hood. Parents drive them in and drop them off.

Maybe you shouldn't be polishing your spoons whilst handing out candy next time.

Haven't had a trick or treater in over a decade. Like Hugh, a high effort, low reward area. Not gated...just rural, on a road that goes nowhere.
Just as well...now that I'm type 2 diabetic, I'm glad there is no candy temptation about.

Looks like you've got your present set for the 2nd annual Pelican holiday gift exchange.

Was pretty dead this yr. Have a ton of candy left over. Last yr ran out early.
Was weird, a lot of older kids this yr. Had one girl come tonight dressed as an airline pilot. Hat , short uniform coat, belly shirt, miniskirt, heels. She had to be college age, was absolutely STUNNING!! One of the prettiest girls I have ever seen. I almost tripped down my step when I turned the light on and seen her. At first I thought it was one of the mothers. LOL

And you didn't mention the mandatory picture-for-candy rule?

Not one, but we never have any, it's not an old folks condo project but it is gated and I think the kids around here go to malls or something. We never even see any.

About 20 so far, expect the older kids will be rolling in soon and it will be time to shut it down. The dogs are staying pretty calm, finally melloowing out I guess.

About 60 kids this year, started at 6:30 and I ran out of candy at 8:30. I think I handed out about 15lbs of candy.
Most of the kids are also collecting money for unicef. Some little samuari left his sword hanging on my door handle!

About 20. Plus the late group of teens that come for candy extortion an hour after everyone else. Unicef disappeared here years ago.

We were working and did not participate. So I guess we are part of the problem. We've never had many here in our neighborhood which is surprising because it's very safe. I think there are also plenty of kids around.
I felt a little bad. At one point I heard some noise out front and peeked out the window. A kid was being towed around the neighborhood in a small trailer behind a huge tractor. It was really cute, and he seemed to be really enjoying himself. I remembered to when I was that age, and neighborhoods were so full of kids that you couldn't drive through them because the streets were full of kids. I hope the kid got a ton of candy.
