Suggest Music For 13 Y/O Girl?

My daughter is at the age when she is interested in listening to music, new bands, etc. However, she is an interesting kid and isn't a big fan of most current pop music. She likes some, but mostly she likes older music and non-pop stuff. We sit at the computer and sample YouTube then she takes her allowance money to the used CD store.

Random sample of stuff she's liking lately: Charlie Parker, Jimi Hendrix, Blondie, young Elvis, Fine Young Cannibals, Diana Krall, Michael Jackson, Phantom of The Opera (Brightman/Crawford). If I was stuck on a desert island w/ this 13 y/o's iPod, I'd be okay with it.

My musical vistas are not infinite, so I'm looking for suggestions on what other music to introduce her to.

How about a top five or top ten list? Ideally something we can find on Youtube, which might mean everything for all I know.

Some albums to consider:

Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
Giant Steps - John Coltrane
Abbey Road - Beatles
Aja - Steely Dan
Dark Side of the Moon - Pink Floyd
Peter Gabriel - So

There are others, but maybe instead find some "best of" albums from the following artists:

Marvin Gaye
Stevie Wonder
Ben Folds Five
Bob Marley
Chicago (old stuff)
Earth, Wind & Fire
Elton John
Eminem
Green Day
Joni Mitchell
Me'shell Ndgeocello
The Pretenders
Tommy Emmanuel
Monk, Mingus, Django

I could go on for days. I think it is important for her to hear female artists (one reason for Pretenders, Me'Shell, etc).

bieber fever, catch it. My teen daughter always leaned toward female artists.

Death Cab for Cutie is on of her favs.

I'm thinking the previous suggestion of 10ft ganja plants might need to be held back for a few years.

That kid is awesome.

I would suggest
Annie (not the musical, the recording artist from Sweden)
Badly Drawn Boy
Daft Punk
Gorillaz
Jens Lekman
LCD Soundsystem
And if she is into the musical soundtrack bit a la Phantom, I would suggest Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog and accompanying soundtrack.

Check em out.
