Does Pizza Hut make you sick?
Never again. Every time. It takes 15 minutes to wolf down a couple of slices. Takes my body several hours for the gut wrenching pain to recede.
Within an hour of eating, it causes my body to expel all of its contents My lady, my kid and I have all been fighting for the bathroom for the last 4 hours. Lost a whole damn night of sleep . What in the hell do they put in there? Ex Lax? Sorry for the gross post. |
Why eat there? I can't remember the last time I've had Pizza Hut. Hell, I've not had Domino's in a few years now.
|
I don't eat there on purpose. I was helping my brother in law put plugs and coils in his 5.4 triton F 250 after work last night. He showed up with a couple of Pizza's to help motivate us. Shortly after ingesting that nasty stuff, I was reminded of why I do not.

Honestly, I think it's the grease.... Makes your insides flow.
|
Next time (if there is one).... Grab a roll of paper towels and soak that **** up!
|
I can't really do most fast food any more. I haven't had more than a light snack (road trip, gotta get SOMETHING to eat, no options) at McD's in as long as I can remember. BK, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell ... I just can't do it. Papa John's actually made my wife sick last time we did that, too, so we've had to find healthier alternatives to pizza. I can't imagine what a Pizza Hut would do to us.
Maybe we're just going soft. Or maybe we're training our bodies to eat healthier food (breakfast today was berries and yogurt), so the nasty greasiness just throws us off? Dan |
It's the "garlic-flavoured" aeorsal spray they use on the pizzas to make them glisten.
|
It's probably the pizza sauce. There really isn't much you can do given that it wasn't your choice.
I seem to get an upset stomach after eating there as well. I like the product but not the aftermath. Hungry Howies is the only pizza that doesn't maim me. |
I decided for whatever reason that KFC sounded good a couple weeks ago. Hadn't eaten there in years. I could not believe the grease. My hands were soaked in oil after eating that stuff.
|
Couple weeks ago at work the "boss" decided to treat everyone to pizza.....about 50 people. He ordered from Pizza Hut. The trash cans were full of slices with one bite taken!
Absolutely the worst! |
Funny coincidence- wife & I had lunch there just the other day.
Never again. |

Ya gotta ask yourself... do I really want to eat food made by high school students? |
I can't remember the last time I had PH, some time in the last 10 years, I think, but it's never caused that sort of problem for me.
THese days, I always get Papa Johns. It's always good. |
Yep, goes through me like a knife thru hot butter. Always thought it was the excess grease, but interesting comment made earlier about the spray can coloring. I have seen that too.

I know someone who has had the same issue for many years. Just gave up on them.
On a more humorous note (and not to make fun of your concerns), the title of your post reminded me of one of my favorite commericals these days. Maybe a little humor is the best medicine. <object style="height: 390px; width: 640px"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/hFgiUm4lQig?version=3"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowScriptAccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/hFgiUm4lQig?version=3" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" allowScriptAccess="always" width="640" height="390"></object> |
Someone must be able to eat the stuff. The chain is huge.
I've eaten worse. |
I just nuked, broiled & ate a couple of pieces of leftover Pizza Hut. I have a cast iron stomach, though. Age has identified certain foods or spices that will guarantee me a washroom run. PH is not on the list.
Now tarragon . . . that is a slam dunk. ;) Ian |
We love pizza and generally as a family eat pizza with a home movie on Friday evening. When our local mom and pop pizza joint (Papa Bambinos) went out of business we embarked on an odyssey to find a replacement. There are probably 30 places within 2-3 miles of where we live and we tried them all and unfortunately they all sucked. The big tip off is when they say the pizza will be ready in 15 minutes. It seems they all use the same source for the dough, sauce, and toppings and the pizza is run through a small table top convener belt oven. We don't eat PH but recently tried the new Dominos and though it is improved we don't like it enough to add it to our regular menu.
Turns out a local Italian restaurant just down the street has an excellent pizza. Large is $30 which is $8 more than our old favorite but the pizza is large enough to provide leftovers for lunch and is generous with toppings (we prefer mushroom, sausage, peperoni, and jalapenos) and crust - which we love. |
How does PH stay in business? Their pizza SUCKS! Doesn't someone at PH corp. HQ know this?
I have gone there for their lunch buffet once in the last 10 yrs. and did it more often when I was really poor and always on the road during the day. But they can't make much money on that. It wasn't that bad back then either. Last time I tried one here in Cave Creek, I was the only person there on a Friday lunch hour. And why do they always try to come up with new gimmicks like cheese-stuffed crusts or wings with your pizza? Just make good pizza and people will beat a path to your door. The best pizza places in Phoenix never advertise and usually have a line to get in. Funny how that works. |
I can tolerate the veggie on the thin crust.
I think the meats are the problem ($10 for any size pizza you have to use some cheap a$$ meats) |
