guitar and bass porn

The bass is used (hard to tell) that I picked up a month or two ago. The guitar is new, just landed last week. Life is good in music land...

Interesting bass. Where are the pickups? What kind is it?

Bass is a Rob Allen. It uses a piezo under the bridge. I have a new Deep 5 model on order with him, but happened on this MB-2 used. I'll likely sell it when the new Deep 5 shows up. Big, fat organic tone. Will pass as an upright in a busy mix and is just flat out fun and involving to play.

The new Deep 5 will look like this, but mine has a rare blonde walnut top

No, they are the Grosh G-90s. I am quite taken with their sound - not sure how much is the pup and how much is the design and wood. It has a nice bite but still has a little dark flavor too it. Bridge pup just kills without any hint of shrill. Still a little hard to find the various sweet spots after playing strats. I find that these take well to a little tone rolloff (unlike my strats that I always ran wide open).

While I have nothing to compete with the beauties Nostatic has offered, I do have some pics of one I made. I am a poor civil servant and could not afford a PRS so I made my own. Not completely happy with the bridge so may swap it out for a more standard bridge/tail someday. Regardless, it plays very nice, sounds good and is at least pretty.

Thanks, that is nice to hear. The neck is a bolt on Warmouth (rosewood over maple, oversized SRV profile, SS frets) that I overlayed the headstock with the same maple as the top layer on the body. The back of the body is mahogany. The pickups are PRS humbuckers.

Those are damn nice axes I've been wanting an american made guitar for a while now my imports are just : ( they're alright my Jackson that I found used was pretty bad quality, bad pots terrible wiring bad intonation it's alright now that it's been set up. I think I got pretty lucky with my Ibanez actually though as far as imports go it's a pretty nice guitar, no pics of it sitting around : /

This is the guitar I've been lusting after for a while. Cheap for American made but still a little pricey for me.

Those are some beautiful instruments. It's nice to see some "boutique" stuff, especially that bass. I only have 1 electric, a Telebastard that I'm putting together right now with a DeArmond gold foil neck pickup ala Ry Cooder. Had to put some nickles under the saddles to raise the strings.

I did pick up a John Walker "Wise River" acoustic based on the Gibson J-35. John was instrumental (pun intended) in starting the Gibson shop in Montana with Ren Ferguson. Here's a cell phone pic (featuring the vicious guard dog) and another of a similar JW "Wise". The sunburst is really something to see "in person".

and as this has been titled 'guitar porn' thread, and porn is all about things that are achingly beautiful that you feel just having the opportunity to play with the object (let alone possess) would somehow enhance your life, this is something I have lust for and feel would make my life more complete to have

This is a Warmoth partsocaster that I built and am selling now. Sadly it has little used value other than the Fralin pups that I have in it.
