Fire this AM in the 'hood:
Woke up early and saw a lot of helicopters hovering nearby on my morning drive to coffee shop, had to investigate. What seemed to be a huge house fire, (based on response size), turned out to be a tiny one but in a huge house. I've always admired the house, (we call it the *Hedge House* for its elaborate hedges around a great driveway. I've seen some *whaler* parties there over the years but never had any clue whose house it was.
Turns out to belong to Michael Jackson's plastic surgeon and best friend, Arnie Klein. How they could be friends after the work he did on him, I'll never know...but that's show biz. The resulting pictures are a little anti-climactic but eff it, here they are: Helicopters: ![]() ![]() Something cooking? ![]() ![]() I know that this is really cub reporter stuff but the little kid in me just loves fire trucks and I'm still drawn to them like a moth to flame: ![]()

I guess he paid his protection money, unlike that guy in Tennessee or wherever it was.

Quite a turn-out of fire trucks. Where's the fire? (and people wonder why govt's go bk) Oh well, nice shine on those ladders.

It might seem counter-intuitive, but wood ladders have better heat resistance than aluminum or fiberglass. Wood can withstand a significant amount of heat and burn/fail slowly. Only the outer surface burns (where oxygen is available). Alum/fiberglass ladders get hot, bend and buckle without any warning whatsoever.

Speeder, did you get to say "hello" to Dr. Arnie Klein? MJ's old dermatologist.
