lyle Lovett, Star Spangled Banner
Lyle Lovette just sang the best rendition of the star spangled banner I have heard in a long time. No fancy voice fluctuations, yodeling, cackling or anything else. Just a straight forward respectable rendition. Nice real nice.

Now, now Joe Bob lets not go there or we are going to get moved to you know where. Lets stick to the fact that somebody sang our anthem with respect. First time in a long time.

He musta warmed up in the Bullpen.....cute that Nolan Ryan was the "catcher"......bet the Rangers didn't want the first string cather to get hurt.
BTW, it wasn't a political comment. I woulda bet the same for any old man on a cold night.... |

I know. Hey H. woulda fell down and not made the plate. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think W owned the Rangers when Ryan was playing. I think that is the significance to them being out there together.

Wish I'd had heard it. I'm tired of all these folks that butcher it in the name of singing it their way.
On another note. Thank God Lyle & Julia Roberts never had kids when they were married.

That's the video I was talking about. I think the world series version was better but that was still nice.
