Anybody have experience with Post-Vasectomy Pain Syndrome?

I am guessing I may have "Post-Vasectomy Pain Syndrome"

Vasectomy was 6 years ago, I have been having pain/discomfort for the past year (started Nov. 12th last year). Easter weekend it was bad enough I decided to go to Urgent Care. They sent me to ER to check for torsion. Unltrasound did not show torsion, they told me I had epididymitis and to see my Urologist. My Urologist is highly respected and is said to be the best in the area. He stated I did not have epididymitis but rather had granulomas at the end of the tubes where he did the snip. I am still having pain and have visited him occasionally since. At a recent visit he said the granulomas are gone and he checked for a hernia. He was unable to tell for certain if I had a hernia (I wanted to tell him he forgot his watch) so he sent me for a CT scan. Results are no hernia. He is now recommending I see a pain management Doc. I have never had experience with a pain management Doc. Kinda wishing it was a hernia, easy in and done as others here have recently proven. Any thoughts or similar experiences?

I had mine about 13 years ago. I started getting pain at the top of my left testicle about 5 or 6 years ago.
It's strange because it doesn't seem to be in one area only. Sometimes I could swear it's further up in my abdomen and others it in the testicle itself.
Not all the time mind you. Just occasionally.

I started walking nightly about 3 years ago and although I've lost weight and got a whole lot fitter it has made the problem worse.
I wear adequate underwear when walking so I saw a doctor and basically there's nothing they can do. I don't have a hernia either.

After much frustration and a refusal to live on pain medication I ended up treating it myself with gentle manipulation in the shower.

After some time in a warm shower I GENTLY stretch both testicles downward and away from my body.
Feeling at the top of each for any changes. My right one has never hurt so I figure if the left one feels the same at the top then all should be good.

And that's it... The pain goes away. I only do the manipulation when I have pain and that's maybe once or twice a week and getting less and less.

Just a few words of warning. Be gentle. Don't over do it. If it hurts too much... Stop.

EDIT: Even if you don't have this problem you should be checking your testicles regularly... Especially at the top closest to your body.
Try and compare left and right and if you feel anything your not sure about... See you doctor.

A lot more than 20 years and no issues. Pain sucks. Find another urologist and search this on the Net. I've found a lot of people that have the same symptoms no matter what your complaint is. Sometimes you can dig up treatment ideas.

Haven't been "cut", but I did have epididymitis when I was a young guy. I went to a urologist with a scarry hair do and a wild look in his eyes who wanted to cut everything right away. That scared the hell out of me, and I went for a second opinion. The second urologist was a lot less scarry and his solution was less scarry too. He told me there wasn't any reason to start cutting anything, and that he had Navy Seals come all the time after parachuting practice with epididymitis. His solution was to draw a very hot bath once or twice a day and soak them things in it. It increased the blood flow in the area and led to healing. It worked very well. I don't know if it will help you, but if the symptoms are the same, maybe the treatment will help.

Thanks for the input thus far. I have pain/discomfort off and on all the time (it even keeps me up at night at times). Laying on my back it feels like someone is jabbing me with a needle were the abdomen "ends" and the danglies begin - always. I have a fullness feeling in my right leg where it meets my abdomen with pain radiating there and pain in the right testicle. Everything is on the right side.

More "too much information" (Apologies in advance Angela)

Try sitting in a "hotish" bath... After a while spread your legs and see if you can relive the pain as suggested by me in my earlier post.

Also: Are you over weight? Do you go "commando" or wear adequate underwear?
Going commando can be helpful in some cases.

Will try the hot bath. I am 5'10" and 215. I wear "adequate" underwear. I have not tried commando but maybe I should give it a go.
