Took my 2 grandkids to the USAF museum and they could care less. Oh well it's a great place to visit. A few pics.

Good stuff. Looks like a nice museum. Where is this?
My boys are moving from train obsession to plane obsession. Might add this to the list. We did the Denver Air Museum (I think it's actually called something else) over July 4th. Highly recommended. They had a B-1 indoors which was pretty cool. |

![]() Are the grandkids male or female? Ages? Airshows and carshows were always big with my two sons... can't imagine a kid... especially a boy... not dropping their jaw over a B-52 hanging right above them.

The B2 is already in a museum... Wow
I remember seeing the F117 for the first time at an airshow in Alaska... They had it roped off under armed guard. You had to stay about 100 feet back and you weren't allowed to see it fly I need to take my son there - He loved the Air and Space Museum

When I worked at WPAFB I was at the museum at least once a week. I would spend my lunch hour looking at just one or two planes. It's only a 15 minute drive away, but I haven't been there in 10 years.

The B-70 is breathtaking. Pictures do not do justice to the scale of that beast.

that suspended B52 is amazing! Looks like its flying. First time I saw a B52 in real life, I was flying a Cessna 152 over the southern part Columbus, OH when the air traffic controller told me on my radio to change heading because a B52 taking off from Rickenbacker Airforce base was headed right for me. As I was diverted around the base's airfield, I could see it reaching my altitude. I recall it being one of the most incredible sites to date in my flying experiences. Cool pics. Thanks for sharing.

Nice! I haven’t been to that one yet. The Navy Museum of Flight at Pensacola is also very good and free. If you are there on the right day you can also watch the Blue Angels practice. Pima Air Museum is also really good. I too drag my kids to every air museum nearby when we travel.

Which is where he Air Force Academy was while they were building the facility near Colorado Springs. They have a B-52 outside at the front door, too. Great museum. |

I didn't know what a XB-70 was, much less that it's a 50 year old design. Incredible and inspiring. While the B2 is a clearly a technological marvel, there's some real sex-appeal in a 6 engine, swept wing supersonic bomber with canards. To me, it's still the future. Thanks for sharing.
