about to order a new Glock. should i opt for nightsights?
what do you guys think? my sig has the glowing night sights, and i guess they are cool. worth the extra money?
how much extra is the option? |
I've done some advanced training with low-light and no-light shooting, and they are extremely useful in those circumstances.
That said, I don't have them, but they are on my long list of gun upgrades... |

LOL!!! that was excellent!

I've had Trijicon or Siglights on most of my SIG's and love them. I recently bought a SIG sight pusher tool. The sights run around $80. The trick is getting them installed. Some places will do it real cheap if you mail them your slide and buy the sights from them.

All pistols should have night sites IMO.
How often do you have to luxury of good light when it really counts? |
If you have to aim that carefully at night, this wouldn't necessarily be for self-defense, would it?

My neighbor was setting off large fireworks in the middle of the night. Out of a deep sleep six bangs were heard behind my back yard with about 1/2 second delays between the bangs. I figured if someone had just shot their significant other they would not get the chance to escape through my house. I grabbed my Mossberg 12g and my Glock 21 with night sights as a backup. I sat for a few minutes on my stairs trained on my back door. Soon a bunch of small firecrackers went off and I went back to bed. The night sights were very visible in the dark. No bad can come of having them.

Yes. But you still need a flashlight to identify the target.
If it's a consideration, you light up like a Christmas tree if looked at through night vision... |

Good. I want to disappoint you. If you liked anything at all about me, I'd be disappointed. But honestly, you so have no idea what you're talking about wrt guns, you really need to be quiet and just read.

If you aim well, with the aid of some illuminated device, and the perp gets capped, that is a good thing. If your aim is off, YOU get capped, that is a bad thing. what is the problem? I have strobe flashlights, trijicon's, NVG's, flash/bangs, claymores, and a shovel.

Trijicon's are nice I installed them my self on Sig P226 and adjusted them with said tool at the range, It took some time to get it right. You need to shoot the gun to get it right, your sight picture will very. |

"how much extra is the option?"
fwiw, they add $50 to the wholesale price. Jim |
thanks, jim.
i'm waiting to hear back from the guy. |
It has been recommended to me to try mixing yellow and green nightsights. It is supposed to be easier to pick up the front sight that way. I don't speak from experience on this, as I still use the stock Glock sights.
Just throwing it out there as something to consider. |
I had a SIG with an orange front and green rear night sights. Very cool. I will use contrasting sights for my next replacements. Trijicon will refill the sight gas capsules for something like $50, so I might just mail them my slides.
