My thoughts as well. Too bad there is no way to erase that memory.....or somehow plant some terrible memories into the animals that did this to her.

ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 1 (UPI) -- The U.S. Defense Department has awarded Lockheed Martin a contract to assist snipers hit targets in areas buffeted by crosswinds.

Lockheed Martin received the $6.9 million contract from the U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency.

The work will be undertaken by electro-optics specialists at Lockheed Martin's Mission Systems and Sensors subdivision in Akron, Ohio.

As envisaged, the One Shot program system's integrated spotter scope should enable snipers to measure crosswinds, the weapon's maximum effective range, temperature, atmospheric pressure, humidity, cant and pointing angles and Global Positioning System coordinates and well as allow direct day- and night-time observation of targets with continuous updates of the aiming point.

This contract is Phase 2E of DARPA's One-Shot program, begun in 2007.

Lockheed Martin is contracted to develop a field-testable prototype observation, measurement and ballistic calculation system that can enable snipers to hit targets with the first shot. Under terms of the contract Lockheed Martin will deliver 15 operational and field-hardened systems, with an additional option for up to 100 more units.
