Who eats cottage cheese?

I grew up with it. My mother would give me cottage cheese with canned pears, peaches, fruit cocktail or apple sauce. My father would sometimes make a chip dip that was made, I think, of cottage cheese blended with salt, pepper, chopped green onions, chopped bell peppers and grated carrots stirred into it.

I never really hear anyone talk about it, but it's always at the store. From time to time (every couple of years), I'll grab some cottage cheese and some apple sauce. I think it make a decent small meal/snack.

Just wondering, do you eat it, do you care about the curd size, what do you do with it or put it in?

I love it, though I don't usually have it at home, only out.

mmm. Just had a big plate of it last night. Love the stuff. My mom was making lasagna when I was a kid, she had forgotten the ricotta. She substituted cottage cheese instead. Our family lasagna recipe changed forever.

My daughter loves it.................................with sugar!!!!!!

I used to eat when I was a kid, mostly with pineapple chunks. I don't care for it now, though.

Interesting you bring this up...from the time I was a tiny tot right until about 34years old I would eat the stuff in huge volumes...in the past 5 years I have not eaten it once! Weird..I guess as I get older my eating habits have really changed.

Grew up on it...mixed in jello with fruit, with hamburgers on Fri nites, on top of potatoes, as a side to jello, mixed with fruit, mixed with tuna (yum), plain from the carton...wow, starting to feel like Bubba from Forrest Gump.

Try it with diced, just-picked, sun-ripened tomatoes and a little (actually, a lot of) freshly ground pepper.

Blueberries or pineapple, small curd. Try to have it once or twice a week.

This is going to sound strange but it's actually good...

Peanut butter on a Ritz craker top with cottage cheese (peppered to taste).
