He doesn't owe anyone anything, especially an autograph.
Who are autograph seekers? They are either pitiful loosers who don't have a life and think that getting someone famous to sign their name will somehow make the looser feel important in some psycho-tarded way, or they are leeches who just want to get a famous person's signature so they can pimp it and get a few bucks. Either way they are total loosers. (Yes, I know it's not spelled that way. It's a running joke. ) I've met famous people over the years as have you, I treated them with respect and appropriate behavior I would extend any stranger who wasn't a tool. They didn't owe me anything and I had no right to interject myself into their life. A casual but reserved nod, maybe a subdued hello, and if invited a compliment and a thank you, something like "I've enjoyed your work. Thanks" and leave it at that. I do not believe in acting like a leech or parasite. In most cases the result was pleasant, and in one case we became friends and had a very long conversation over many beers. |

Disagree, his fans are what made him, I find it funny that while he is telling people not to send him mail, he keeps saying peace
![]() That being said, I too have met and spend time with a lot of famous people,, and know where you are coming from, but there is a price for being famous... I remember years ago, at the Hooters across from the track in Daytona, during the Rolex, a waitress pulled out a pen to give me her phone number on a menue so we could get together later, Derek & Justin Bell were sitting at the next table, thinking I was wanting his autograph, grabbed the menu & pen and preceded to sign it, I thanked him but pointed out that she was the one who I wanted to sign it..

I'm with Sammy, for once. He's a musician, he sells records. Anything beyond that is up to him.
Face it, most memorabilia is collected these days as a vehicle to make a buck. Otherwise, when someone tired of owing something that had been autographed, they'd just give it away. Which never happens... JR |

Ringo Starr is around 70 years old. And he's busy.
He has probably realized that he will never get through the massive backlog of unopened mail he already has. ![]()

At least Ringo gave notice and a reason why.
Ringo is still cool.

Why bother? Seems like he would have generated 10x the mail with that silly announcement. What year was that anyway?
