Well someone believes that you have a valid APFT on file or you would not be on boarder mission. I've served on AD and with the NG and I can attest to the fact that this type of $hit goes on all the time. Not all units (AD or NG) are like this so don't let a bad apple spoil the reputation of other units. Keep us updated and let us know what you scored on the test.

When you failed the PT in '08 your 1SG should have informed you that you had failed a test and you should have been rescheduled for 90 days out to retest. That is a command failure of the soldier. If you have completed your enlistment then you should get your bonus. You liived up to your end of the deal. 1 record APFT is all that is required of an M-Day (part time ) National Guard soldier. It does not matter the score as long as it is passing. The SGM doesn't have the authority to make you take another because he doesn't feel that you did well enough. Passing is passing ...even if it is the minimum passing score (go read FM 21-20).
I have dealt with overbearing imbeciles like this SGM for almost 32 years. He is completely wrong and is making himself subject to an article 15 UCMJ punishment.

I have to apologize. Its the CSM talking for the Company Commander. From what the CSM said I have to take a PT test with them because taking an APFT with another unit is not good enough, according to the CC. Sounds like BS to me, but I'm not sure if the CC can have 1 person take an APFT. I like deploying overseas and what not. I been twice. I volunteered for this recent deployment in 09-10 and may volunteer for another to Afghan in 2011. I love serving my country when they need me to. I dont want to get out but if I'm going to have a bad name and have to be punished then I may as well get out in the 2 months. If the reserves will take me then I'll go reserves. Hopefully they wont be as messed up as this NG unit.. LOL..

You sound like a whiner to me. But that's just me. Have you even read and tried to understand the regs dealing with your situation and your contract? Did you fully engage the professionals in your unit to try to resolve this before engaging the IG? You should have the answers before you asked the questions. That's what smart NCO's do. Too late now i'm afraid. Do as you are told Sergeant and take and pass the test. I think at that point you should then find a unit that "you" can accept. Good luck with that.

I would just go take the test, unless you are ill. Obviously they are thinking you can't easily pass it. I'd prove them wrong. This will be good for your ego and also for your health.
