Vintage 750 Honda Motorcyle?

Went to a local shop today...owner told me of his new toy, a 1,000 V twin Honda, then mentionhed he wants to sell his K2 1972 made, registered as a '73, 750 with 22,000 miles. Long list of extra stuff & spares he added over the years, beginning with 6" overstock k front fork...

I dunno much about bikes, but IIRC somebody here was looking for a 750 Honda?
This one looked really nice...no rust, etc.

Said he wanted $1350 for it...

If anybody's interested, I could PM Steve's phone number, but he leaves in a couple of days for Elk hunting.

Paul - Best if stock. 6" extend leads one to believe it's been the victim of being converted into a "Chopper".......OMG, need pictures for sure.

Boy, I jumped right to this thread!! Every since the cafe racer thread came back around I have been on the trail of a CB 350, and sweeping the web for all related info. there is a bunch there too. That seems a pretty reasonable price if all is well with the 750. Don't know about the longer forks, seems a strange change to make on what should be a nice bike for riding the twisties with.

Any leads to a nice CB 350 twin would of interest.
Thanks Richard

Definitely NOT a "chopper"...factory tank, gauges, bars, etc. Dunno why the longer forks, but they don't look all that radical to me. Steve owns a local automotive/marine wrenching shop...so any wrenching was done by a pro...himself.

Bob, like I said...I don't know jack about motorcyles..but cosmetics are good, it has lacquer paint in a color resembling the stock "midnight bronze'...kind of a root beer color? Other extras...2 or 3 extra exhaust (guess they are hard to get stock?)
Extra front rotor... extra 516 wheel & hub...new tires, new "O ring chain" (whatever that is) it's running a 516 harley wheel on Honda hub...

Glad I took notes, because I don't have a clue what half of this means.

Anyway, I'll PM Steve's biz number...the bike is here in Lebanon, OR...but like I said, he leaves for hunting on Wednesday...

Sounds like a decent price if as clean as you say. The 6" fork extension is a bit goofy, but alot of folks did that back in the day. The extra exhausts are nice to have as well.

Check out sohc.net for lots of great info.

thousands of possibilities with a 750:

Too bad you live so far away. This would be a great project for you to complete. CB550: Fs/ft Honda Cb550 Cafe - ADVrider

Thanks Kurt for posting the link to the CB550, It does look like a worthy project.

While the cafe racer thread did get my juices going on this, My stoke for the cafe bikes is tempered by the reality that I haven't ridden much in many years, make that decades.
So a stock or near stock bike with a more cruisey sit up riding position makes more sense to me right now. This also drives me in the direction of the smaller, lighter, less likely to get myself into trouble CB350 sized bike. Also the roads here on kauai are much slower paced than most mainland areas. No speed limits over 50 mph.
But I do wonder if I will quickly come to wish that I had gone for the 500/550 size bike in the first place.
the shipping cost is significant $700 plus from the west coast, so I don't want have to do that twice.
What do you think? I am trying to feel my way into this in a vacuum so to speak. I don't see any of these vintage type bikes here to checkout. Riders here are on Harleys or modern sportbikes. So I really appreciate any helpful input from the more experienced riders here.

Thanks Richard

Cheers
