Ouch. Not that I carry a lot of money, but I'd check on it every so often.

Yeah, I know Eric too.... believeable. Guy has had more than his share of highs and lows. And more than a little shady.

It happens. My wife mis-placed a bank envelope with $3500 cash and it took us a few days to realize it was missing. She left it in the center console of a vehicle when we sent it in to our mechanic for service. Sucks to think he may have taken it.

I gotta ask, what was he doing with that kind of cash? Nobody carries $10k in cash on them unless they're up to something. First instinct was that it seems either stoopid or shady to me but I admit I don't know the whole story. Maybe there was a perfectly legitimate reason for it??????????????????????

I don't handle large sums of money. I hate it. I almost never have more than $50 or $60 on me.

A while back I had a check for about $1/4 mil that I was moving from one financial firm to another.
I told the wife what it was and asked the wife to mail it for me, she said OK.
I thought about it and asked, certified, right? She said "huh?
I said, you're gonna send that certified mail, right? she thought about it and said, I guess so ....
She was ready to send it off as regular mail. Can you imagine the sheet-storm it'd cause if it got lost or stolen? The tax implications, the hassle, it'd take years to clean it up if ever.
Gave me nightmares. Took too many years to accumulate that money, I couldn't imagine loosing it.
PS (speeled that way on porpoise).

Not necessarily. I've carried that more than that with me when buying cars.

When buying cars, I like to take the cash, makes things go quicker and you get a better deal. I sold my old Corvette for 36k at the swap meet in Long Beach on a Sunday, the guy had the cash. When buying the property and building the house in Costa Rica I took over 15k cash with me many times, in my pockets, never a problem.

The times when I've had that much cash out I suffered through having it stuffed in my front pocket. At least that way you know where it is at all times.

He lost it gambling. I can't feel sorry for him. He bet his money he was better that the other guy. He was wrong. I would bet that he has hustled more than a few guys. They felt the same way he feels now. Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chance.

I bought a Jeep from a guy in Newport Beach, I had 18k cash, he wouldn't take it, we had to go to his bank and give it to them, he never touched it. The guy supposedly had it sold for 20 but was waiting for the guy to get financing. I offered the 18, he decided not to wait. The guy called that afternoon to tell him he got the money.

He lost it before he gambled. This guy made a bundle...I mean a bundle...in shady biz dealing. Not sure of the details. Here's the full copy of the original post.

"You know whats worse than losing $10,000 playing pool??? -

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll tell you. Losing the cash, I litterly lost $10,000 in cash. Its gone poof into to thin air. I took the $$ from the bank, thought I put it in my cue case. nope not there, ok maybe my duffel bag, nope not there. Man my brain is gone-I been running cold for a while now but this is rediclous. If I lost it on a bet, so what I had action-but to just lose it for nothing hurts more than I ever thought. I took it out of the bank to use for action. Now I dont even want to play. "

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Be assured, in the pool world, there are money matches for $10,000 and beyond.
And most of these guys don't like checks...

I once watched a match on live stream...Shane Van Boening vs. "Hennesee from Tennesee". A race to 10 ahead in 9 ball. After it was over, Van Boening reached up on the table light, took down a rubber banded pile of 100's, and started counting. I was told is was $50,000. Wasn't verified, but it WAS quite a stack of bills.

Anyway, a pic I had on file of the Eric "Fatboy" driveway in Vegas. Maybe lots of money makes some folks crazy? Don't feel too sorry for him...$10K to him is like $10 to me.

4 years ago, when I was 24, I sold my '73 911S for $35k in cash. buyer flew out, handed the cash, and i gave him the title, bill of sale, and keys. I was surprised that 35K worth of hundreds can fit in a business envelope easily.

...once i had the cash, i spent months depositing into the bank in small increments...i didnt like having it laying around
