Yeah, I laid the film in the opposite direction on the console, vs the rest of the car, so the ashtray looks counterweave. And I also covered some stuff that shouldn't be covered...
All in all, given how much I hated the wood, I'm over the moon. I'll probably do something else for the console and shifter over time (paint ? Replacement most likely), I'm unlikely to damage the film of the door and dash trim but the shifter will be replaced and the console maybe painted or swapped with a junker's unit. It's too much CF look... Still, for $50... Last edited by Deschodt; 12-22-2010 at 10:08 AM.. |

While I prefer the brushes aluminum in my dads M3, I really dont mindthe wood with the black interior on my e39.
I got an 02 530i with the sport package (60k miles) about 3 weeks ago. Need to get some pictures up for you guys. Same color as D's. In love so far. The the decade update from my e34 in all aspects of the car really makes a difference. |

Thanks ! I also must amend the power statement from earlier. That car is surprisingly quick for it's size/weight and power. In town, whatever... but on the freeway it wants to cruise above 90, and it warps from 70 to 100 Mph whenever I want to pass. It must be geared perfectly for the autobahn or something, because it has no business being this strong for a lowly 2.8 I6. Makes me look at my SC's 3.0L funny, in hindsight.
Still, it's no M5, but by the time I replace the beat up shocks and springs I'll have <$8K in the thing and it'll look and run great. This car is making me appreciate BMWs once more (bad experience 10 y ago), the driver seat is more comfortable than my sofa ! ![]() Looks better w/ clear headlight lenses too... |
