Lithium batteries ?
I have so many smoke alarms in my house it seems impossible to keep them happy. To date I have been using standard 9v batteries but one of my alarms is about 14' up on a wall. It's a 24k beoch to drag the ladder into that room to change it. The one in the hallway chirps all the time even though all are hard wired and I changed the battery many times. I finally took it out and disconnected the 110v wires...and it still chirps ! I guess I should just toss it and cover the hole.
I replaced all these SA's about two years ago since I had heard that they eventually go bad, so these are fairly new. I'm half deaf so they don't bother me as much as they do my wife...but she bothers me about it so what's the diff ![]() Anyway, does anyone here use lithium 9v in their SA's. I read some reviews on Amazon and there seems to be no consensus

I might expect such from the People's Republic of Madison...but thanks for the info anyway. I had no idea there were such tamper proof ? devices and not at all sure I want one.

well since you should check them twice a year anyway and who wants one that doesnt work when it should??? why not just make the effort everytime you change the clocks you change the regular 9v batteries they are usually good that long.
