Nice mix of bikes, are as clean mechanically as they look? Which is your favoriate for a longish outing?
I am gathering input to help guide my own quest for a vintage ride, leaning towards Honda CB 350 or up to 550 four. Any thoughts?
I like your collection!
Cheers Richard

Snapper,

Very nice--I really love the K2--MM is a very underappreciated marque

They are all clean mechanically and I try to ride them every week or every other week to operating temp to keep them going. I am going through all of them that have points and coverting to electronic ignition.

I love riding all of them for their intended purposes.

For a longish outing I like the GT380 and Seca the best. The GT is exactly that, a Grand Touring bike. Although it is a triple 2-stroke, it is detuned and mild in comparison to the RDs which are high-strung by design.

You cannot go wrong with a vintage CB.

Yes, in the US for sure. The Brits and the rest of Europe know them and love them for sure. The 3 1/2 especially.

This was my fleet during the summer:

I've since sold the 2005 GSX-R750 20th Anniversary Edition at the far end of the group.

I love bikes.

Sir, you have a Katana. Loved by some, misunderstood by others. I love them....the older ones like you have. Is it turbo charged?

Nope, my '82 1100 is mostly stock. The only upgrades are a MAC chrome 4-into-2 exhaust, Mikuni 33mm smoothbores with K&N pot filters, engine "crash" bars, front fork brace, tinted screen and the auxiliary oil cooler.

I have a set of stock carbs for the bike as well as the stock airbox set-up to put on in the spring. In fact, the only original part that I'm missing is the unobtainium factory exhaust! The chrome MAC system is pretty blingy though so I think I'll leave it on.

Beautiful Muth! I'm lusting after one of those, and an '81 GPZ550. Those are the only diesels I really want in my collection. Nice going

I like those old 70's bikes. Not cruisers, not sportbikes, not chopper just "motorcycles".
They don't make just "motorcycles" any longer.

Well, very few anyhow...

The only good Muth design. He went downhill after this one.

I agree. I gotta' tell you, if you haven't ridden a correctly sorted/tuned GT380 you're missing out. If any of you want to take a ride on mine and you have a mc endorsement, you are welcome to...PM me. I love to share the fun

Your GT380 is pretty rare. I have a '73 RD350, but it needs some serious work. Cosmetically, its not bad, though. Bought it with a mice nest in the intake. Needs a cylinder and piston. Going to call it my Patina Special

Had a '73 RD350 and an '81 Seca 550. Both great bikes. Wanted a GT380 in the day, too. A friend had the Suzuki 500 Titan. That thing was pretty strong.

Had a friend with a Seca 550 of that vintage, rode it when it was a few years old, I loved that thing.
