"Let it Be" vid... somewhat weird...

...and yet strangely awesome.

If you heard a weird droning noise during the day today, don’t be alarmed. That was just the sound of the entire Internet collectively scratching its head thanks to this video. What is said video? Well, it’s a video of every random celebrity imaginable from the 80s and early 90s singing (or lip syncing) to The Beatle’s “Let It Be” while superimposed on a pretty beach. Not every video features George from Seinfeld, Norm from Cheers, Freddy Krueger, Huey Lewis, two female leads from Twin Peaks, and Tonya Harding. This video features them and about 50 more. You hear that sound now? That’s your brain exploding.

What impressive world power could have brought all of these names together? Turns out it’s an ad for the fourth season of Gylne Tider (“Golden Times”) an entertainment show which Wikipedia (and Google Translate) informs me focuses primarily on the 80s (the gold-hewed times of the title). An it’s certainly an effective ad. I now want to watch this show more than any other Norwegian entertainment show focusing primarily on the 80s ever. EVER! I won’t say any more. You really just need to watch it. It’s…incredible.

Special Note: this video apparently premiered overseas a few weeks ago so the appearance of Leslie Nielsen isn’t as tasteless as it may appear.

That was quite fun to watch! Some singing, lots of lip synching. It was ironic that Milli Vanilli was in there.

That was a waste of a few minutes of my life I'll never get back.
If you liked the video then you'll love the following pictures. After all, how often do you see Bozo the Clown, a bunny with toilet paper on its head, and Ernie and Rubber Duckie all on the same page?

"What impressive world power could have brought all of these names together?"

Something tells me no one in that video was too hard to get.
