If you're worried about the cost, just get arrested. They do them for free in jail.

I suspect the OP was a troll post.

I have no tats, and likely never will. The only time I think a tattoo makes any kind of sense is when a group of guys have a bond like military service. I never served so I don't know that bond first hand but I have a few friends that do. I guess the classic example is the original Band of Brothers from WWII. That type of friendship and trust is worth a group tattoo. I suspect it happens every month in Afghanistan and Iraq.

+1 on the troll thing.

Anyhow...

Every time kids say "Hey mister, cool car!" I tell them the same thing:

"Don't get any tattoos, work hard at at school, and you can have one just like it".

I see you already have a Pcar, but I agree that they're quite silly!

Was in court yesterday. defendant, not one of mine, is there for a first appearance on a charge of domestic assault. Tattooed on his forearm, in big letters, "Love No Beotches." (except spelled correctly)

Boy, sure would not want him as a cellmate. On the other hand we could put him with Julian Assange and bet that the two would get along just fine! :)

Let me help you with that:

"Don't get any visible tattoos, work hard at school and don't get an English degree, and you can have one just like it".

i'm getting older, wiser, and my job is stable and could care less about my tats.

i am going to get one around my forearm. just picking the right art has been difficult. i want it to look like a chinese watercolor painting. tree branches, etc..

i'll probably get it done in taiwan. wife is cool with it. mom will pass out.

island911 12-08-2010 10:26 AM

Well screw what your mom thinks /feels... what has that beotch ever done for ya!?

Seriously, why do people hold this ink-crap as most important?

island911 12-08-2010 10:31 AM

good one :D

I have a niece who completely hides her 'art' (really, some other guys 'art' on her skin) ...anyway, hides it from one grandparent, and is okay completely pissing-off the other. (anything for attention) --sad.

Back in 1995 when first started making any dough, living in an apartment in Texas, I was in Sacto visiting the folks, and was at my cousins place, getting some clothes that he had become too fat to wear anymore. We were sitting around on the porch of his current domicile, a nice, restored 75 year old duplex in mid-town, had a Murphy bed in living room. My friend of over 10 years, Jim Pantages, who I had not seen in about a year and a half, walked up. Asked how he was, where he was going, on his way home. Turns out he lived right next door to my cousin in the other half of the duplex, and he was very proud of this new tattoo he had. Treble clef surrounded by a whole note, he was a muscian, that was pretty cool, nice color greenish blue in it. I said it was cool, but I would not get a tattoo, what is there that I would want to wear the rest of my life, right.

About a week later, after returning to Texas, I got a call from my mom, Jim had been shot and killed by a couple of criminals out robbing people. Jim had just finished a gig, and was killed while he and Spider were loading equipment. Was a big group of us that hung out together, and I got to talking about it with my brother. I said I had never had any interest in getting a tattoo, but I wanted to get that one that Jim got right before he was killed. They caught the perps when they used Jim's credit card where one of the guy's girlfriends worked, lucky they were stupid. Turns out, several people had the same idea, and at the end of summer in 1995, went to the same tattoo artist and about a dozen of us got that tat. Well, not exactly, I got a mirror image of it, as Jim had it less than a week and died, so I figured I did not want the same thing exactly. Over that labor day weekend, there were a few benefit concerts, and now there is a Jim Pantages Scholarship Fund at El Camino HS in Sacramento. That is how I ended up with a tattoo.

Since that time, I discovered that a couple who were robbed and shot at and missed the same night, they ran away after they tossed there valuables in the other direction, had a mutual friend, Doug Hannah, when they told me about it when we happened to meet. Neither of them knew Jim. I also happened to have a guy who worked at channel 13 with Jim for years come in as a patient. Talked to him for hours, lucky he was last one, coming in after work. Small world.

I doubt if I will get another tattoo

Hell NO! A fastback '66 Mustang. That, or a '65 Pontiac GTO. '55 Chevvy is sooo common.

I tend to think of tattoos as similar to being stuck with wearing a mullet forever.

Good thinking.

Also, The Porsche crest has been done...more than several times!

I actually did consider having a dollar sign in the palm of one hand and a cent sign in the other. then I regained my senses.

vash 12-08-2010 11:27 AM

NO LOGOS! why anyone would put a logo on their body is beyond me. even if i was MJ, i would put a NIKE swoop on my body.. seen it done.

this rule also applys to things like superman emblems..unless it it huge and on your chest..

island911 12-08-2010 11:31 AM

. .. or your back-side w/ an Apple logo --that will NeVAr go outta style.
