Tires for my Lotus
I am having trouble finding a performance tire for my Lotus Elan.
The specs call for a 175/70-13 and the only tire I have found so far is the General Altimax RT. Anyone have any experience with these tires? Any other recommendations for this size tire?

what about going up to 14" panasports with 185 60 14? There should be more choices in that size.

Henry, the Altimax RTs are actually a good all-around tire, but not great performance tires and they get noisey with tread wear.
I can get Cooper, Kelly, Uniroyal, Kumho, and a few others in that size. Consider the Kumho Solus KR21, they're very good all-around tires They are being replaced (slowly) with the KR22 Eco Solus which is a low-rolling-resistance tire with phenomonal treadwear (740!!) and a 100K mile warranty... but not really 'Lotus-like' |
