Yes... they just changed the name to tablet PC...

Searching on the HP and Samsung (wonder what island has been using)...

Suddenly I'm cool again.

If you want one (or all) of these, send me a PM, and if you'll pay shipping they're yours.

These are all b/w screens, and I'm not sure where support from Visor ended.

All of 'em worked, last time I checked.

Thanks... as a matter of fact I'm flying to Portland (Beaverton) next Thursday for the holidays.

However I am looking for something a little more high tech... the iTouch(or similar device) looks promising.

Reading this thread on my iPod touch. And also making this comment using it. Try it you'll like it.

Scott,

Which cell phone company are you using? You can get a smart phone and not buy a data plan. You leave the data off. Simple. And most of them are Wifi today, so when you're in a hotspot, you manually sync.

The bonus with an ipod touch is you can get a dyno app for it, which will give you 0-60 times and
how much hp your Porsche delivers...

James, I am on T-mobile... my ancient (two year old) Nokia does wifi... still trying to educate wife on leaving the wifi auto connect "on" on her droid.

I will update to a smart phone when I am eligible (June) with no data plan.

I just want all my contact info backed up to my desktop computer... my Nokia doesn't do that... it does sync to the T-mobile website but I would like to have a local backup.

I have a new I-Touch, loaded the Skype app, and call all over the world for almost nothing when I have wi-fi......That and the new Video Camera are worth the price alone.....

Seriously... you guys ever worry about what if your do-it-all expensive phone falls in the pool, gets beer spilled on it, the dog uses it for a chew toy, etc...

Sometime it is good to have separate devices.

scottmandue 12-18-2010 02:38 PM

The new tablet devcies (HP and Samsung)... $600-$700 ouch!

9dreizig 12-18-2010 02:44 PM

Hey Scott, everything is backed up with my iphone and for $199 every two years you get a new one.. So yes we worry about losing everything but in 24hrs you can replace everything..

+1, both the best & worst thing, for the same reason, now I'm always connected:eek:

posting from an HP and I love it. It costs more than an ipad, but it does a lot more too. I showed the wife her gift to me this year and she really likes it.

Not a problem, my phone is always backed up (sync'd) with 2 computers in two different locations.

Scott...

Same thing, using a Palm. But you, Gogar, have me looking at an ipod touch.

Looks like I can back up on my PC???
