GMC electrical question, fuse location.

If the 12 volt + lead on the trailer connector is dead.....where is the fuse located??

03 Yukon BTW....

Read down the first thread a little bit. Seems to be in the engine bay and might have a dummy fuse in there now...

Yupperz, stoopid dummy plug in the fuse box. Of course it's a 40 amp special.

Thanks for the help. The owner's manual and the Clymer's were worthless.....

The GM lead for the brake controller will have the fuse you need taped to it.

Are you talking about the Electric Brake lead off the male adapter on the truck?

Think it's still there after seven years?

Nope, under the Dash, if the Yukon came with the towing package there is a plug that you connect to a traler brake controller. My Tahoe had the lead in the glovebox with the fuse attached to it.

Since I don't have electric brakes.......Do you think I can pull the fuse from Stud 2 (Accessory Power/Trailer Wiring Brake feed) and use that in Stud 1?

That is a good question, I am not sure. Does that stud control anything else? It would probably just be safer to get a new fuse.

Did it to just see if I could get power....it worked. Swapped it back. Will get the proper 40 amp when it stops snowing.

The Stud 2 fuse was a smaller 30 amp.
