Porsche 917 Photos from Amelia Island

The 2010 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance celebrated the 40th anniversary of the Porsche 917′s victories at the 1970 24 Hours of Daytona and 24 Hours of Le Mans by bringing together nine of the big bombers. Incredible show to say the least.

In a better-late-than-never article, we finally published our Porsche 917 photo gallery from Amelia:

Jamie,
Cool pictures! I'd like to take this opportunity to welcome Sports Car Digest as an advertiser on this forum.

Kind regards,

The 917 us the car I fell in love with many many moons ago. I blame that car for my addiction.

I love that car but I never realized how small it was until I actually saw one. Go-cart like.

having had the pleasure to view the Collier collection, one of the neat things about the #23 martini car is that, well, its never been restored. Yup.. the damage you see was damage collected during its racing and never repaired. Mr Collier is a fan of "patina" and authenticity vs over restoration. Pretty neat imho. An amazing collection as well.
