entertaining the idea

I have had the Sony cyber shot DSC T90 for about two years now. It has met up to all of my expectations and the touch screen is excellent. Not to mention it is quite durable, as my wife usually keeps it in her purse sans case (much to my chagrin).

Might check out the Leica C-Lux-3. I beleive it's under 5oz. The V-Lux-20 is a bit bigger (7+oz?), but has GPS tagging which may be useful.

Randy:
A few years ago I took a Nikon Coolpix S10 to Safari in Africa. I wanted a camaera with a 10x opitcal zoom and would fit in my pocket. Every night, I compared shots with a fellow we were traveling with. Except for some of the low light shots (not enough lens apeture in the Coolpix), you could not tell the difference. He was using some fancy Nikon Digital SLR with a bag of lenses. I would get another Coolpix when mine dies.
