Wow. 82 bids up to $230K. I didn't realize the Galaxy had such a fanbase.

Don't need to drive it to know I would prefer the 3 pedal manual version. Slushbox automatic is a deal killer on any sports car, to me.

A V6 Mustang is faster than a G50 Carrera. I don't think anyone (at least anyone with any common sense) buys street cars based on all out dragstrip times.

I'd disagree with that. There are plenty of people who buy cars based upon dragstrip (or 0-60, at least) times. You might not be one of those, but it's clearly a high priority for most sportycar buyers. Look at the endless Mustang vs Camaro rivalry (or Viper vs. Vette, or M3 vs. S4, etc.).

At the same time, it seems a shame to have the financial ability to buy a brand new no-expense-spared 911 Turbo, but then drive it with an automatic transmission.

The tip is also faster around a real track, not just a dragstrip.

3 pedal cars are going the way of the dodo. The new Ferrari's aren't available with a traditional manual, even as an option. There is no benefit at all anymore, other than making a small minority of us feel better about our driving skills.

Us old farts clinging to our clutch pedals will soon need to stick to vintage cars. I'm sure those who preferred cranking the car to life with a metal crank in the grill over an ignition key felt the same.

Based on the new cars I've had in the last 10 years, I'm OK with that.
If someone would just make a car with all the mechanical improvements of the past couple of decades and without the electronic nose wipers and bluetuth cup holders I'd be in line.

I like matte black, but that's just fugly looking.

I wonder if it's really a vinyl wrap, as the door jambs, etc. are not matte black.

Who cares if a car is a second or two faster around a track? What does that matter to a street driven vehicle? It is meaningless.

Driving a stick doesn't have anything to do with "driving skills." Anyone can learn it and do it well. The reason for it is is is more fun and makes driving more enjoyable, at least for a lot of people (I'd disagree it's a small minority of "us," at least if you are talking about Pelicans. I'd say most of "us" drive manual transmission Porsches, and wouldn't have it any other way).

I can understand someone who does most of their driving in, say LA, preferring a slush box...but, then again, why even buy a sporty car if you're gonna drive it 99% of the time in stop & go traffic? I hate driving to and around LA in my SC; it ain't fun for me at all.
