Funny, at first glance I first thought the thread was about Jerry Garcia's girlfriend, Mt. Girl. I guess I went to too many Dead concerts.

She is a woman... she will never think the way you do... unless you want to consider switching teams if you are going to have a woman in your life you have to deal with this type of behavior

My wife freaked when I bought a $6 USB charger.

Over the holidays we took her daughter and a friend to the Harry Potter show... $25 tics + parking + food + gift shop = $200

I'm also sensing she is worried about my junk because it takes up room she could use for her junk. :D

In the end it is all just junk...

Years ago my wife used to complain a little about me spending money on Porsches and such.
Granted she's nearly as much of a tightwad as I am, but still.

I mentioned that we could always do the seperate checking account thing if she thinks I'm spending too much of my money on myself, the subject has never come up again except sometimes she suggests that I need to go out and get myself this or that.

My wife is a shopaholic, spends at least $1500 a month on sheet she doesn't need or use. Our closets are so overflowing that she sometimes stores sheet in her car. All of it stays in store bags and she has drawers full of receipts. Last weekend I let it slip out that I paid for the flight for a dear unemployed, down-on-his-luck friend to come to Phoenix and go to a Rush concert with me in Albuquerque. She got pretty upset about that.

Sounds like you're getting a better return on investment from your "clutter" than your girlfriend....

Years ago when I wore them, my wife bought me a tie which I didn't care for. She was going to return it, months later I found it in the back of the minivan covered in spilled kid food and soda. I told her she should have just taken the $20 that it cost and burned it.

My wife spends so much time returning and exchanging stuff, that she's well known in some local stores and asks me to go do it for her. I really hope she never loses her job, but wonder what it will take to cure this behavior. She has been amazingly lucky at finding well-paying jobs with minimal effort and has never been laid off before. She really thinks it can't happen to her.

[unsolicited opinion] RL -- could be a depression-driven shopping habit. Sometimes the 'thrill of the hunt' (for bargains, never-before-known treasures, etc.) gives them improved feelings of self worth. But it could also just be a simple addiction. Either way, it might be worthwhile for her to talk to a pro about it.[/unsolicited opinion]

No, no no. Remember it's your crap/junk, but her stuff/things.

As in: "you need to move your crap out of here so I can have more room for my things." :D

LOL, my ex-girlfriend was like that, why do you need that old Porsche stuff, get rid of it & buy 1 brand new one, why do you need those old bikes, you are too old for them, why do you need those model cars, that is kid stuff, yet she has an entire room for nothing but purses, and to her, a cheap purse only cost $600:eek:

But, I still may sell off most of my stuff and move to OR to be with her (she won't come back to FL) as she still owns my heart...

I would tolerate some discussion of money, what to buy, etc. from my ex wife and we were usually on the same page about those types of things. I guess it's different stages of life. Now that I'm single and intend to stay away (at least from the legal aspect of marriage) I have no patience for any woman giving me any advice with the possible exception of "a little left, or a little faster, that feels good, that doesn't".

If you're coming to OR - bring your stuff. I'll find a way to store it for us... err I mean you ;)
