Syfy cancels the slow-starting 'Caprica'

I was originally going to post "What Happened to Caprica?"

but I did a quick search, and yup, it's canceled.

I would rather they just totally cancel it and let the remainder of the season go straight to DVD, then we can see the rest, before "sometime" next year.

Too bad. It never really gained any traction. Even BSG was a tough sell when you look at the Neilson ratings. But BSG was a terrific show -- perhaps the best Scifi show of all time, IMHO. Caprica? Not so much.

I guess what seems really stupid, but maybe not, is replacing Caprica for the next 5 week with re-runs of SNG.

I can say right now, if they were to release straight to DVD a season 2, I would buy it.

I thought they just didn't show it last Tuesday because of the elections. Bummer. I also would buy the DVD.

I loved the idea of knowing the back story to BSG but Caprica was a bit too much like a soap opera. Too many characters, too many side stories. Maybe they should have condensed the whole thing into a miniseries.

I only heard of it from this site. Maybe a little more advertising could have helped it.

I find it interesting that they have green lighted another series.

Note to the die hard Battlestar Galactica / Caprica fans -- on Tuesday, Syfy will air the remaining 5 or 6 episodes of Caprica in a "Caprica Marathon." So set your DVR's folks -- this is the last of this show....

Checked syfy.com, and it appears that Capria 1.0 and 1.5 are only available on DVD right now. Bummer.
