Poking fun at Michigan fans
I went to Michigan State, but I grew up in Ann Arbor (home of Uni of Michigan).
My bro-in-law went to Michigan. He, and frankly all the Michigan fans I know, are the most rabid, obsessed fans I have ever seen. If it was up to them, Rich Rod would not have been fired, he would have been hanged. So I made this to poke fun at them (NSFW, some swearing):

I've been to Neyland and Bryant-Denny Stadiums and both are very impressive; but even the "Bear" said that there was nothing as intimidating as playing in Baton Rouge on a Saturday night.

LOL beat me to it!
I was in Knoxville a few years ago during football season. Nearly everyone in town was wearing orange. Nearly everyone had something in the back window of their vehicles related to the vols. At least 1/4 of the houses I saw had a large orange flag with a white T on it hanging above the front door. Nearly everyone I talked to ask if I thought that "we" were gonna win this Saturday. I 'splained that "I" wasn't on the team. The people I met were nice folks but took their college football very seriously. A few of them had good senses of humor, they told me some very funny LSU jokes. Last edited by sammyg2; 01-06-2011 at 09:19 AM.. |

![]() For pure, unadulterated, out-of-control fans though, I'd pit Alabama-Auburn fans against anybody. I've seen coworkers almost come to blows over Alabama-Auburn arguments (I lived in Alabama for over 20 years). The problem is that 99% of all Alabama/Auburn fans have never even set foot on a college campus, yet they talk as if they are personally involved in every game...

Actually I - and most other Tennessee fans - liked Kiffin right up until the day he left. I thought he brought a breath of fresh air to Tennessee that hadn't been here in awhile. I also understand that he left for his "dream job" - I don't blame him. He left Tennessee in a bad position as a result and that is causing some pain, but Tennessee will be back. No worries.
In the end, I don't think Kiffin was a good match for the SEC. He really didn't fit in and the only publicity he got was bad publicity. I also don't think that he is that great of a coach. His record surely isn't very impressive. Hopefully USC opponents aren't singing "Rocky Top" any more... ![]()

TCU to OSU President:
![]() Earlier this year, Ohio State president Gordon Gee caused a stir when he compared non-automatic BCS qualifier schools to the "Little Sisters of the Poor," insinuating that the schedules faced by Boise State or TCU rendered those teams' records less legitimate than those of their AQ counterparts. And truth be told, yes, Ohio State's schedule was more challenging this season than that of TCU or Boise, but only marginally so, and anybody who's taken a look at SEC out-of-conference scheduling lately knows how little interest there is in challenging non-conference opponents. Fast forward to last weekend, when TCU upended Wisconsin in the Rose Bowl, 21-19, winning on a failed two-point conversion by the Badgers late in the fourth quarter. The coverage of the game focused largely on the fact that TCU was the first modern-era non-AQ to win the bowl ever, and how it felt to "win one for the little guys." Never mind that TCU was undefeated, favored, and ranked higher in the polls than Wisconsin coming into the game; it was just all "little guy," all the time. TCU fans noticed, obviously, and someone acting on TCU's behalf exacted revenge on Gee and Ohio State today with messages on 20 different electronic billboards that went up in Columbus today.

We'll REALLY be able to poke fun at them when they bring their supposed savior (Les Miles) to Michigan. I will laugh more than I did when Saban left. (Les' "good" season was because of the Saban recruits who were left there).
