I like it and I would consider it if it didn't have the slide safety...

Looks nice for a carry weapon. Certainly more concealable than a 1911... Maybe I'll go check one out at some point. Kimber is good stuff.

I don't have any hands-on experience with either, but size-wise it looks a lot like a bunch of the Kahrs and possibly Kel-tecs. The size certainly looks like it would be good for CCW. I've heard mixed reviews of a lot of the Kimber stuff these days. I've heard that they used to be great, but that the QA these days isn't what it should be, especially on a pricey gun.

I like the fact there is no external hammer.

Thanks for posting this. I carry a S&W .38, and I think its too bulky. I want something flatter.

1) Having once owned a Kimber 1911, I'll never own another firearm from that company
2) Kahr's line of 9mm and .40S&W compacts and sub-compacts come in both all-stainless and polymer-receiver varieties, and have the same manual-of-arms as the Glock but with a very nice trigger and the svelteness of a single-stack magazine. 3) Kel-tec's PF-9 is available for a whopping $250 if you think the Kahrs are too expensive. 4) If you want the 1911 manual-of-arms (and trigger!), the Colt New Agent is available in 9mm and .45ACP with a 3" barrel. It's damned near pocketable (but not quite). There's also the STI Rogue and the Springfield EMP. Hell, the SIG P238 is available in .380 ACP... There are so many compact 9mm options out there without this near-certain reliability nightmare from the d-bags in Yonkers. Seems like this Kimber is an answer to a question nobody asked.

shot a friends Kahr, couldn't make it jam. This is a new gun by Kimber, it will be interesting to see the comparisons

I wonder why nobody makes a truly small .45 ACP. In .45 ACP, this gun would simply be a skosh wider. WTF? I don't want to carry a 9. I want to carry a .45.

I have a Star PD .45ACP from 1978 and it's amazing. I don't care for Kahr's but that's primarily because they are owned by the Moonies (Unification Church).

Smallest 9mm around, and boy does it have a kick! A similarly-sized .45 would jump out of your hands and bonk you in the forehead. (Maybe you could use a good bonk in the head) Oh, wait..... This isn't PARF, is it? Sorry..... |

"Good grief! This thing kicks like a Missouri mule and feels like the hoof hit your hand. As far as recoil goes, well, I’ve had more fun at a funeral. " i use mini glock .40, just too tired to change. |

Upon questioning caliber: If you shoot someone in the face with it, will it stop them? I'd assume yes to both. So who cares.
