There is some truth in both interpretations...to me. He seemed to be baited by the video camera-toting people, which triggered his fury.

At the same time, many Muslims do expect Westerners to accommodate their strict religious beliefs, which isn't always practical (especially when it comes to common things like food or liquor), which we take for granted. I lived in an apartment complex out of state where there were a lot of Pakistanis when I was younger, it's very easy to offend a Muslim if you don't know about their complex beliefs...and I don't like walking on eggshells around anyone because of their religious beliefs.

I heard the he was a hard working kid, worked a lot of overtime at the KFC in his Muslim neighborhood and was able to save up enough to buy a 944.

When the camers crew showed up and one of their guys started harangueing him about not serving bacon, and then he noticed that the guy was wearing a ball cap with a Porsche crest on it, he flew off the handle.

WTF?! The only thing I can come up with is that he'd been hanging around in PARF too long and this was the straw that broke his camel's (his camel, HAHAHA!) back?

I think the Ozzies ought to confiscate his 944, sell it, buy an old Porsche Dakar beater, strap him in it and ship his ass back to the desert. :mad:

The thing is that kid probably doesn't regret acting like that. In his own twisted world he feels he had the "right" to abuse someone that offended him.

I have never heard either term before but it seems those are both considered insults or put downs.

I was surprised to find out Oriental very much not a Politically Correct term when referring to a person from the orient the proper term is Asian.

Asians were called Wogs... Western Oriental gentleman. Used by the English immigrants more than second generation Australians.

Then at some point in the 60s the term Wog was used to describe Southern European immigrants. Mostly the Greek and Spanish immigrants. The Italians were singled out as Dagos.
More recently the term Wog is used by the European immigrants and their descendants much like your American Negroes use the N word amongst themselves.
The aboriginals have never been treated with respect but recently things are getting better.

My impression of the video?

A bunch of white a55hole Aussies went into a KFC and baited the employees. I don't even see how Islam plays into the video. It sounds like the guy was saying "don't call me b!tch!", as if people ordering called him that. How does Islam play into this?

Leb and wop (last time I was in Melbourne the slur for Italians was "I-tie", however it's spelled) are both ethnic slurs.

Create a similar scenario here in the U.S., cast it with blacks and a racially prejudiced white film crew, plug in the slurs of choice and tell me how that video would differ from the video in the op.

That's because the word "orient" doesn't mean China and Japan, it means Iraq and Iran and Saudi Arabia. "Oriental" means "from the East", not "Far East", which is now "Asian".
