Advice for a 7 year old.

Dear son,

You have a tiny ass. It does not take an entire roll of toilet paper to wipe it.

If you attempt to flush an entire roll of TP and it does not go down on the 1st flush, or the 2nd, please call me for help before the 3rd, and 4th, and 5th, and 6th and 7th flush.

Sidney I used to think the same way. I got married at 36 and was 39 when my boys were born. It is the single greatest thing I have ever done.

Watching and teaching your own child is hard for me to put into word, but it is awesome.

Yeah, if I'd known how cool it was going to be I would have done it 20 years earlier.

I'm not so sure if it's that great an idea to wait until you are settled/established.

Life expectancy has gone thru the roof in the last century but physically we have not adapted.

There's a reason why in your late teens and early 20's you are able to go days with little or no sleep. It's when we should be having kids.

I worry I won't get to enjoy grandchildren. Stresses me.

They are not for everyone. Life is not better with or without kids, just different.

You still have time Sid but as said above kids are great my son turns 11 today, all kids are a gift, with out them we would just end up as lonely old men.

I never really wanted kids either, Sid. That is, until I met my wife(#2). We had(have) a great life together and adding children just made it even better.

I'm glad I waited until I was in my 30's to have them, though. I feel I am a better parent having lived a bit on the wild side in my 20's.


Sure, it's tough but the good outweighs the bad by a very large margin.

Don't get me wrong. I really love children, and I am really good with them. There are still so many uncertainties about the future that it scares me. And I don't just mean my future. The world is getting to be a damned scary place

We are all just more aware of it now.

Live a little and see what happens once you are out of school.

My advice for my almost 3 year old.....
Start using the darn potty regularly. Getting tired of buying diapers!
