When Jimmy gets out of prison (and hope its a long time from now) the chances of his being reformed are about the same as my hair growing back on top of my head.

To tell the truth there is a much higher chance of his getting out, then coming after both Mark's and myself for revenge. Jimmy is not the type of criminal who will be reformed easily and while we can hope it will happen, am not going to be betting any money on it.

It would be awesome if he comes out of prison and gets a job at a KIA dealership and leaves us in the Porsche world alone.

Mark finally got most of the parts for his 911 back a while ago, and believe its on the road now after considerable expense replacing parts that Jimmy did not return.

Feel that he would like to rejoin the group if possible but he is not going to bow and scrape to be re-instated. He saved 911 owners on the Pelican group hundreds of thousands of $$ getting Jimmy stopped from stealing engines/parts and in fact entire cars and he is banned for it?

Fast forward to a week ago in court and all the work that Mark Frasier had put into this came to the end with Jimmy's conviction for stealing from Pelican members. All along Mark was right and now we have proof. The right thing would be to reinstate Mark F and we all should give him a hearty thanks. He sure deserves it.

We are working on that. We want to know when he is released and where he is allowed to go by his Parole officer. If its anywhere near the three of us, then restraining orders will be done.

Mark- just forget it man. I wouldn't even want to come back given what you went through. If you need to talk Porsches, there's plenty of other ways. Via e-mails, Facebook, other forums...no need to ask to come back....those who banished you for doing what's right, should be out there apologizing and asking YOU to come back.

Besides, what's to be gained here? It's just play time anymore these days. Most technical discussions have been had, and can be found anywhere on the web. So it's not like you'll need help with anything...you've spent more money on parts to put your car back together than this place would have saved you ... and you saved other's from losing their money. What's to be gained?

The parts classifieds attitude some have of "I had it first, it's mine" is a bit out of whack. While there's rules, the seller still has the right to sell to who he wants. This ain't renting an apartment where you can't discriminate because you don't want to rent to _________ (insert whatever ethnic/racial/stereotype/whatever description you want- i'm not touching that one!)

Jimmy started stealing one engine, gearbox or car at a time. The word did not get out and he continued on and on.

Agree that its not the same type of thing but why is it ok to blast 911quest for screwing a buyer and its not ok to do the same with Jimmy? We know now that Jimmy was stealing everything in sight but hindsight is always 20/20.

Agree and if we are banned, or if this thread is locked as usually happens in the past, at least we are the ones in the right here. At least NOW people know the truth and who was really helping protect the 911 owners in SoCal.

His crime is simply jumping buyer, not stealing anybody's money. Tony's also a guy who's made offers to create specialty transmission tools (ironically a 915 pinion setup P258 repro ) for us DIY hacks, so he's shown some willingness to support the community. Also got a nice set of Bilstein struts from him. Not saying he's a saint and i'm not trying to vouch for him per se'. Just suggesting he may not be on the path to becoming the next Jimmy? Or maybe he is?? Never know these days w/ "the economy." So far, based on his classifieds track record, he's been pretty good to the pelicans. This coming from a guy (me) who's got a small axe to grind against him. Then again maybe i'm too accommodating/agreeable and i'm the next to have an engine stolen.......

Just saying comparing the buyer switch vs. The Jimmy routine is a pretty big disparity. I assume this assimilation came about due to the significance/size of the part- a trans.

I don't know that much about the Jimmy case, so I can't say much obviously about the inequality or anything in particular.

But in a general sense, regarding the editing of certain posts, I want to offer support and praise for what Wayne has done.

Internet forums and car forums reflect the times we live, and when things are going to the dogs, and people are feeling stressed out, they take it out on each other in these types of forums.

Even if it's true, we don't need to know every sordid detail, and we don't need dirty laundry aired for all to see/smell. Wayne has done a lot to clean up this forum and keep it helpful as a resource for Porsche owners. It was really headed in the wrong direction three years ago. I stopped posting for awhile because of the titanic amount of BS on this forum back then. But like I said, Wayne took the initiative to clean it up, and I think everyone benefits because of it.

So to those who don't like it, just post somewhere else. You really don't have a right to type whatever you feel like.

Again - I'm not commenting on the Jimmy case. I know next to nothing about it, and know absolutely nothing about any unequal treatment, just commenting in a general sense.

i disagree. this forum was instrumental in saving people the hell of sending motors to MM for repair. i got as far as talking to Roy. he talked a fantastic game. a quick search here and i deleted his info. not one single business generates negativity on this BBS than our wonderful MM. well worth the beotching when it comes to saving some poor unsuspecting newbie 911 owner the wasted $$.

ok, that's fair enough. MM has generated a ton of negative info and deserved it. But what about the other vendors? You can't even type the name of V*****x, the illustrious fan shroud manufacturer with their name on the part. I'll bet there is not a single vendor out there who has not had a disgruntled customer. Should they all be allowed to post their problems? It does not take much to ruin a person's reputation IMO. To me, it's all in the way someone handles themself. I can say "I had a problem with ____" and it was eventually worked out. That's factual. But to say "don't deal with ____ because he ripped me off". No businessman, no vendor would or should let that stand. He'd fight to protect his reputation, and should do so. I for one don't care to read all of that.

And I don't think you can gripe freely, but that's not my point. My point is that it's a good thing that there are brakes on what people can say. Wayne does not need the hassles, and the board does not need to become a beotchfest of grown men airing their grievances to everyone. I don't need to know every time somone is charged a re-stocking fee to return a part, either.

The main reason for the board is not to be a sort of Consumer Affairs (tm) type of body, but to offer tech support, which is what really draws me here. I like to get the insights of everyone, not just the "experts". To me, every point of view is welcomed. Some are more valuable than others to be sure.

But the "so and so" ripped me off posts - eh. They should maybe go into a "I Got A Complaint to Air, So Open a Window" forum.

I think the whole issue is the selective protection certain people/organizations receive. Justice is not dispensed uniformly.

I dunno - complaints that are connected to events substantive enough to get someone convicted for grand theft seem to be meet the standard of being factual to me...

When this dude gets out, if you could find out how he is putting his name out there for repair/rebuild work... you could then have someone contact him and ask for him to meet them for a consult... then just have about six motivated meatheads appear out of nowhere and tell him if it ever becomes known that he is back to his old ways...

And the one thing that has not been let out is that we know (word of mouth) of approx double the cases that Jimmy was involved in that the person he stole from did not want to come forward and help.

If there are this many thefts and we have not been able to really get the word out here on PP where Jimmy did a lot of "grazing for new victims" then we really wonder how many victims there are out there.

i'm dumbfounded by the lack of "concern" or explanation of this situation from the admins.....it was such a big deal anytime someone posted anything regarding that pos (jimmy deering that entire threads were deleted, people were "warned" and so on.......
