Driving radio free.....

After the Pats lost to the Jets I couldn't take the local talk radio so I just turned the car radio off and after a few weeks have yet to turn it back on during my 1hr commute.

All I can say is I wished I did it years ago! no more stupid talk drivel, searching for a decent tune, all the talk radio bore and the ads every 5 min.

I know you all will say theres add free satellite or an ipod (which I have) but my main like in all this is no noise in my car no matter what.

Just me and my thoughts and listenoung to the note of my DD BMW 330i's straight six.... I think its beena great way to start the day then do the same on the way home.

anyone else doing the same by choice?

I hardly ever listen anymore. It's all sensationalist garbage. Not unlike some of the posters here, actually...

The radios in my cars that have radios are tuned to the local PBS station 99% of the time. I hit the AM button every now and then to get the gist of the right fringe's current whine, but I can only stand it for 5 minutes or so.
I don't have radios in my Porsches. I like the sounds of the cars much better than anything that comes over the airwaves.

I haven't had a working am/fm reciever in any of my cars for well- as long as I can remember. I never bother to set presets- it's all off IPOD in my car.

On my DD the antenna is broken and i never bothered to replace it...

Radio in general especially lately with all the "talk radio" (cant people just STFU and deal with their own problems?) is unbearable.

Of course, the worst talk radio are all the Howard Stearn knock off "Male issues" - you know, why can't the average guy meet and bang a chick like Jennifer Anniston? Why are women *****es? Why can't the average guy bang a porn star? Which Hollywood Hottie looks like she gives the best BJ's according to the average guy? Who's banging who? How to order the best rub and tug?

Garbage. It's WORSE than the average women's talk show on TV.

Nothing to tune into since Air America died? (from being irrelevant LOL)

There needs to be something between the super caffeinated political talk and the "soundscape" snoozefest of public radio. Public radio is interesting sometimes but I get the feeling those doing the show aren't that interested in it either....I always think of the SNL skit...the delicious dish.
