I agree. Recchi has that "hockey sixth sense" that can "see" the play and be in the right place before it happens.

I predict that Luongo will start again. I know that some goalies (like Thomas) come back with a brilliant game after being embarassed. I imagine that Luongo will do the same. Bobrovsky didn't have that and he's collecting splinters. |

Well, I hoping the trend continue... Thus the Habs will move to the next round ;)
|
Flyers / Sabres ought to be interesting tonight. I'm hoping the trash stops and they do their talking with hockey.
|
huh...apparently a 3-0 lead means nothing this year.
|
Boston/Mtl is just so very entertaining! Good hits, great hustle, lots of passion, minimal mickey mouse stuff.

Miraculous saves last night. One of those goalies deserves the Vesina

Putting Hockey on cable has really destroyed it's audience IMO. Here in Philly, without comcast specifically, you cannot see virtually any of the games. It really sucks.

As usual in OT if one team mis, the other one score shortly after. If it go to 7 (I hope) they will be a bunch of tired puppy as 6 & 7 are back to back. |

F that, i don't like hockey that much. |

I think that Luongo is a distant 3rd but Rinne could win it if the Preds take the cup. Other than that, it should be Thomas based on the stats and some of his saves in the last 3 games. |
Thank goodness the Flyers won, now I have to shuffle my personal schedule to catch game 7.
Sorry to the Canucks fans but someone tell me how Luongo can win in game 7? He should be ashamed of himself. I am not saying that OT shot was an easy shot but what kind of save was that on the original shot? He lunged at it and blocked the rebound right into the slot. |
In his defense I think the deflection made him lunge at the first save, but he sure looked awkward on that save.
He was terrible at the Olympics, terrible every year in the playoffs, or maybe just 'not great'. He has yet to prove himself under pressure. I think Corey Schneider would dress for game 7 if he was healthy. The team and coaches have lost faith in Luongo. Last night the Canucks put on a major push as soon as Luongo came in the game. It was like they knew they had to score and keep the Hawks from getting shots on him. Sad. Because they are a very good team. |
Imagine what a beast philly would be if they could goalkeeping figured out ? Gawd Leighton was a disaster!

Luongo is a great regular season goalie. He is not showing playoff hockey. My prediction is that he will play game 7. He earned it with the season he's given them and he is contention for the Vesina and if he doesn't play he'll be knocked out anyway. Although those are not totally rock solid reasons to keep him in, remember that they don't really have a backup that's good enough/healthy enough to carry them through the rest of the playoffs. If Luongo doesn't play game seven it will kill his confidence and they will be stuck with whoever they put in for the rest of the playoffs. I suspect they will go for an all or nothing move.

You can't play another team 4-5-6-7 games back to back with same-old same-old. Honestly, I think that Price has really stepped up to the plate this year. He was horrible in the beginning of the year but really came on in the last month of the season. The first two games he looked invincible. Fortunately, the B's found a few holes in his armor (see above) and shook his confidence. That's one of the things I love about Thomas: he never gives up and as such he comes back strong from an embarrassing previous game. Most goalies would have been toast (mentally) after losing two straight at home like that. Besides, he's so much fun to watch. He's my second all time fav goalie after Hasek (I bet you'd never have guessed that). Like Hasek, Thomas is great because you just never know what he is going to do. Of course Hasek would drive me nuts when he tried to stick handle the puck  He never understood he was bad at that. |

I believe they have the worst save % of any winning goalies. Neither was very good, they both played for very good teams. A superior team can carry a goalie, but league parity means it rarely happens, that and the absence of teams with two/three weak goalies. Aside from Philly, where weak goalies like to congregate. |
