Identify this spoon?

I have no idea what it is. It has German proof marks. Looks like a baby browning or 1908 colt vest. It has the wrong grips too. I'm puzzled.

astra was a spanish company. not above shamelessly ripping off german designs. look at their broomhandle mausers.

though i have no knowledge of that particular gun.

Those are just astra grips that have been drilled and trimmed to fit this gun. It is not an astra.

were the original grips also with 2 screws? or was it originally a one screw and did they modify it for 2 ??

Cause i got dozen's of similar pistols in my book here, and all the .25's, even the .32's that look like it had only one screw for the grips.

I think the current grips were modded to fit the pistol. Looks like they originally had one screw in the center.

yeah, but all the ones in the book i'm looking at , had one screw, but not in the center of the grip, it's more to the rear . So i'm wondering if this pistol frame has a screw hole in that location..

There are dozens more that look like it, but these resemble the above spoon the best, including the curved slots in the slide, and overal similarity in the dimension, despite some being .32, not .25

I get it now.. Thanks. Although the slides in your pix have the second notch for the safety a bit more forward.

yeah, they all have "some" tiny little difference, but they still all look alike
i just posted them to show that they all have a single/center screw to the rear, without exception.

Pocket pistols

Oops, I just reread your post, David. I guess someone put Astra grips on another pistol. With all of the civil unrest and turmoil after WW1, a lot of guns were manufactured, especially in .25 and .32 for personal defense, like my personal favorite, the Ortgies.
