I love it when . . .

I'm snow blowing the edges of my driveway on a windy morning and suck up frozen dog doodie and frozen peesicles which get chopped up and blown back into my face as spindrift. Just sayin'. . .

Just make sure to give your wife a kiss on the way in, afterwards.

That's not written in green so we in deep freeze, USA (or elsewhere) are left wondering about Milt's experience with what seconds before was "snow" butt is now in/on the operator's "grill". Uff-da!. Maybe consider this:

Only fools and desperate men blow snow upwind.

There's no cab on my little (30 hp) New Holland.
Usually, since my driveway runs North-South, I will try to push a path with the tractor in the direction against the wind, then blow snow with the wind at my back. Every now and then the wind eddies around my barn or shifts and I end up looking like a snowman.
Sometimes, one has no choice and you just have to try to get most of it off to the side. Sometimes Mother Nature is a cruel *****.

As stated above, keep your mouth closed at times like that. (or maybe a face shield would work)

What the heck. In three months we'll be *****ing about how hot it's getting while we mow lawns.
Sigh

I don't mind blowing snow, of course except when the wind is blowing, under those circumstances, it's heavy pants, a gortex anorak w/ hood up and ski goggles. It's not a pretty picture but I'm protected from the elements. We have 20 to 30 mph winds today and I was just out cleaning up from last nights minor dump. It was a no win situation but it's done for now.

In the past 48 hours, we've had warm weather and rain, sun and now snow and wind. The roof slide wiped out my phone line so have been w/o Internet high speed for that time as well. Perhaps the only good thing is once the roof slides I can relax and stop worrying about collapse. When it slides, it's like a mini earthquake.

My wife just asked, "why are we not in Florida?" I have no good answer.

I caught one of the doggies tennis balls in the blower once. Had been frozen since 31 inch snowfall on Halloween. It exited the blower at Mach2 and went thru the window of a parked car across the street. Blower did a strange little rattlecan dance for a sec, then made a giant loogie sound.

Their dogs barked incessantly, so I chalked it up to Karma.

I'm glad we don't have that problem down here.

Seriously... If you inhaled that stuff you could get really sick. Be careful.

Life lesson #1: don't pee (or poo) into the wind, even if it's frozen

Life lesson #2: don't smile while violating lesson #1

The worst snowblower incidents I have had involved hockey pucks that were left on the driveway. Twice one got wedged in the auger and stalled the machine, but one time it did fire out the chute. Rang it off the post though... NO GOAL!
