Todays "stars" would never be allowed to do that commercial.

Let's see, the Environmentalists would be mad - how dare you stray off road. Probably killed some desert tortoises. And I'm guessing those are 2 stroke, which I think have been banned in most places.

Feminists today would be upset with the ending.

Can you imagine Brad Pitt or Matt Damon even being able to ride like that?

I had an Elsinore just like that in school - same silver color... I wasn't quite as cool.

I had an old beat up 1974 or 1976 (can't remember which) KX 250 as a teen, but my dream bike from that time period was the Elsinore 250. In fact the old silver Elsinores inspired my recent 1974 Honda cafe racer project's paint job.

I had one too, I paid $25 bucks for it seized up. I pulled it apart, and if I remember correctly, I actually hand sanded the piston, and put it back together, no new gaskets or anything. It ran for a couple of days after that. Hey, I was 13, had no money, and did not know what the hell I was doing. I wish I would have kept it. Cool old bikes. I remember riding it before it seized up, and before I owned it, and it was just as fast as the new bikes at that time (1982, or 83)

Is that Marty Smith that he waves to in the beginning of the vid?

Too funny about those Huskeroos in the BG, McCool was in On Any Sunday with Malcolm Smith and Mert Lawill tearing up the place - on Huskies! cuz Malcolm had a Husqvarna dealership!

I had a 77 Elsinore 125. same thing, Seized it up once and just knocked the piston out with a hammer, sanded the cylinder and it ran great afterwards. Miss that bike.

That video is great. Looks a lot like Palmdale or Rosamond area.

Tim, etc., I have the 1975 MT250 Elsinore I got from Jeremy (Gogar). I got it running, and spent some time working on it, but I just don't have enough hours in the day. If anyone would like it as a project, and has a way to get it home from Colorado, just let me know. I have pics, and can take some more.

I'd really rather not throw it on craigslist.....

Bill
