Darn shame, P-car rotting away

This is only 1/2 block from my house. Its a 912. Just discovered it. The rear deck lid is toast from exposure. Obviously hasn't moved in a long time.....

I suspect there is more than the deck lid that is toast. Too bad

The targa top and the rest of the body (that I can see) looks solid, but who knows? I should buy it and part it.

I found a similar 912 rotting in a street in central KS. I ended up buying it and re-selling it to a 912 nut from Wyoming. I believe he had 4 other 912s and wanted a parts car. It sacrificed its life so others could live.

Have you spoken to the owner?

Is it for sale?

As you can tell from my signature I like a good '69!

I'll go ask him about it. I have met the neighbors previously, and they said he's a grumpy sob.

I certainly couldn't resist inquiring about it & getting it out of there. Part it or save it, either one would be better than totally rusting away there. Problem is most people who have things like that have no idea of the real value. Most of the time they think they can fiinance sending their kids to college by selling it. I know about a lady who had a 356, and that was her plan.
