easiest way to post pics?

is there an easier way to add photos to a post than to upload it from a directory on the computer?

i.e. any way to just copy & paste the image?

Short answer, no.

There are other ways but they all involve posting the picture somewhere.

If it's on the net you can (usually) hot link it. The main advantage to that is being able to post larger size/resolution images. However, the traditional upload method is preferred if you want to preserve the image(s) for future reference/searches (especially if the images you are trying to post are random net pics). Of course if you are linking from a domain you have content control over like your own website, or an image account (flikr, photobucket, etc), then it isn't an issue.

ok, how do I hot link to a pic somewhere else & get the image to post here?

if I copy the URL it just sticks the URL itself in, i.e. the image does not appear

On a mac, just drag any picture to the desktop, then upload normally into pelican. Is that what your talking about?

In PC, on a website, right-click on a picture, and select copy image address. Then, in your post, left-click on , paste your image url and you are done.

It takes more time to upload than to directly hotlink. Plus, you duplicate an image on the server that is already there. Think that you download it from Wayne server to your computer, then upload it back to Wayne server where it already was.

I see what you are trying to do, but it will not work because your PC is not set up as a server.
This trick only works with images from web servers.
