Help! Need to write a candidate profile for school council elections!
So I decided to nominate as a parent representative for school council (for the high school Charlotte attends). I did this because I really like the ethics and the ethos of the school and am impressed by the commitment and dedication of the teaching staff. Also because I want to be more involved with her school.
But now I have to write a candidate profile and I am having a mental bloc! Needs to be lodged at the school tomorrow. School is looking for background info on my association with the school community and my reasons for standing for election; about 150 words. As this is only Charlotte's second year at the school I don't have a big 'association' per se (yet ![]() Question is; do I include info about the community action group involvement to demonstrate my commitment or could this be construed as too 'political'? Should I include some family background (married, no. of kids, their ages etc)? I have read dozens of these profiles over the years and do you think I can remember any of them? No...so I don't want to put pen to paper and waste valuable word space and say nothing memorable...and I can't for the life of me kick the brain into the right gear to get this done... Can someone give me a 'kickstart' please???? |

Give a bit of background on yourself... family and professional, and then discuss what can you personally bring to the school given your life experiences. Stay away from discussion of political activism in your background, if controversial.
