That's-a spicy meat-a-ball! (My hot sauce collection)
Here they are:
![]() From left to right: Tabasco Pepper Sauce. Main pepper: Red Pepper / Tabasco Pepper (Capsicum frutescens) Comments: your typical buffalo wing sauce. Ok on chicken, of course! Goya Salsa Picante. Main pepper: Louisiana Hot Peppers, Tabasco Peppers (Capsicum frutescens) Comments: gives a little kick to salsa, nachos, fajitas Melinda's XXXXtra Reserve Habanero Pepper Sauce Main pepper: Habanero (Capsicum chinense) Comments: also contains carrots, onions, lime juice, and garlic. Nice smooth flavor with a little kick Sedona's Old West Habanero Hot Sauce Main peppers: Habanero (Capsicum chinense) and Jalapeņo peppers Comments: Nice kick -- great on meatloaf. Hotter than Melinda's Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce (Thai hot sauce) Main pepper: Chili Comments: Good strong kick if used liberally. Great in vegetable stir fry, or meat and rice dishes, and seafood Salsa de Aji - Indio Bravo (made in Equador) Main pepper: Aji pepper (Capsicum baccatum) Comments: Very strong kick. There is a reason it is called indio bravo Ghost Train Hot Sauce Main pepper: Ghost Pepper (Bhut Jolokia chili pepper - a hybrid of Capsicum frutescens and Capsicum chinense pepper), Peri Peri Peppers Comments: only tried a little - but WOW! It was awesome on meat loaf! One small drop and WOW! However, this is a slightly 'watered down' hot sauce which contians the the 'weaker brother' of one of the hottest pepper in the world, the Naga Jolokia. The Bhut Jolokia is still very potent. For those curious: the hottest pepper in the world today is the Naga Viper Pepper with a rating of 1,382,118 Scoville Heat Units. (For reference, the Bhut Jolokia is only 401.5 times hotter than Tabasco sauce) So, what hot sauces do you use? -Z-man.

I don't like Tapatio. I do Tabasco for some things, but the king is chili oil:
![]() That other stuff gets tossed - even the Sriracha. Chili oil and Szechuan peppers will give you as much heat as you need. |

Tabasco is aged for years in oak casks, deep in salt caves -- like a fine wine.
I use a whole bunch - used to have about 25 bottles + a few dry chili types - but have reduced it by half now. |

Chili oil, like it a lot. Had a room mate from India who had some of that stuff his mother made, so hot it made your hair stand on end, literally.
I roast peppers a lot, smoked is good too, can do it outside conveniently, which is good in the summer, which is when I tend to have a lot of peppers. For the prepared stuff, Tabasco, of course, got a sriracha pepper sauce thing just like that in the fridge, Cholula(similar to your Goya, but a little better to me) The wife likes the Cholula, I like the Tabasco. I like this stuff a lot too, especially Fire Roasted Fusion, the super hot one has too many seeds in it for me. Hot Sauces - Crazy Mother Pucker's Hot Sauces

I was thinking he better have some Sriracha in that list and he didn't disappoint.
I've slowed down a little in the Sriracha consumption lately, a bottle of that lasts me almost 2 months but I'm the only one in the house that eats it. I'm gonna hafta try that chili garlic sauce. Hey Z-man iffn you eat a whole bunch of hot sauce, does that make you a poopy-hothead? Just wonderin ........ |

We have a shelf in our 'fridge dedicated to hot sauce.
![]() I would definitely add Cholula (Chili garlic for me) to the mix. My latest addition which is GREAT for homemade wings? "Valentina's Salsa Picante". Got turned onto it by a friend who made me some sample wings with it. Excellent! ![]()

Wandered off somewhere...

Love this thread. Used to use tons of Siricha sauce when I lived in Thailand...even visited the factory in Siricha. Gotta look for some of your suggested ones though...
To that end, what is the best source of these ? Any one source for all..or many ?
