Bizarre. Spiders cause recall of Mazdas in US

Apologies if this has been posted before; but I came acros this article this morning.

How very bizarre!

Spiders cause recall of Mazda's in US for living in fuel tank

"Japanese brand caught in web after spiders prompt 50,000 car recall.

Spiders have forced Mazda US to recall more than 50,000 Mazda6 mid-sized sedans.

The yellow sac spider reportedly spins its webs inside part of the car's fuel system, which in turn causes increased pressure in the fuel system, causing the car's petrol tank to crack."

More in the article.

That's cause his other legs are hidden behind the red plastic thing. Here's the image I used. I wanted a yellow sac on a black background to cut from.

Quiet a while back, I was complaining to my boss that one of the burners on my gas grill was not working. Straight away, he said, "There's a spiders web blocking the burner". 100% correct! I could see it. I think it was actually an egg sack of some sort, but point was, he was correct. Cleaned it out, and burner worked fine.

Follow up story is even more weird

Just stumbled across this...too far with the animal rights thing

Bizarre follow-up to Mazda's spider recall

Quote:
Animal rights activists have offered to “humanely remove” spiders from infested Mazda fuel tanks, provided the owner donates the car.
