Gogar saw you on national news today.

Jeremy, They did a small clip of you guys waking up the shuttle crew. Very cool to see you guys get some recognition.

What... they couldn't give you guys tambourines or triangles or something to play in the background?

Seriously though... WAY cool, and well done.

They decided that I looked sooooo good, if I had played an instrument it would have overshadowed the other guy. Makes sense to me.

You're in Houston and didn't want to have a beer or 10?

And here's some others.

Here's the "mockup/training shuttle" that they will let you get into.

So, if they'll let me sit in it, I'm gonna damn well sit in it.

Note "Master Alarm."

Looking backwards from the pilot seat:

Looking down at my feet.

And, looking out the window forward.

Didn't get to get in these.

Are those old consoles still in use or were you in the "museum" area of mission control?

Here's the 'mockup/training' International Space Station. The real one is about 350 feet long, so this one is in a few pieces.

There's plexi on the floors so you can walk around, which of course isn't there in the real one.

Circa 1980's control panel in the Russian section of the mock ISS:

View into the Russian section from the USA section.

Some mock 'experiments' in the Japanese section:

Meet the new spacecraft, same as the (really old) spacecraft:

Here's the TINY 3-man Soyuz that our astronauts will ride in for the next few years, anyway.

Next, this:

"museum." They were in use until the mid '90s, though, which I thought was a pretty wild concept.

Craig, that'd old Mission Control. Whee Gemini, Apollo, and some of the earlier Shuttle missions were controlled from. One building over is new Mission Control where Gogar was doing his wake up call.

The old controls were brought back into mission control and it is now a historic landmark. Just in front of the flight directer console is capcon which is where you heard words like "Houston we have a problem." It definitely is a historic room.

Jeremy, Did you get to go into the ISS room? It's directly below old mission control. And isn't building 9 sweet? I could play around in there for hours...

Here's the "Apollo-era" room Tom mentioned. Cool!

Here's the ISS Control room. The Americans had the day off, and it was 1:45 AM, so pretty mellow.

And here's the Shuttle Mission control room from the flight director's desk:

And from the 'viewing room':

And, a couple of dorks who shouldn't be in there.

And, the lead Dork talking to Steven Lindsey on the phone.

Good day! only 2 hours of sleep, though. I'll get over it.
