Why are they called spoons

I see people call guns spoons. Why is this? I have just call it my 45.

fingpilot 03-19-2011 07:15 AM

Mine's bigger than yours.

Embraer 03-19-2011 07:15 AM

first rule of spoons....don't talk about spoons. second rule of spoons....don't talk about spoons.

Someone decided that the FBI webcrawlers would pass over "spoons."

azasadny 03-19-2011 07:25 AM

"tabs" here is a spoon collector and he also collects guns, so we just started calling guns "spoons" because we're all so incredibly witty here!

You'll need to search the board for other Pelicanisms, gererator, snow tires, spoons, fluffer, black audi wagon, cratch slappin, monkey roll, to get up to speed.

Same here.

A year or so ago, when a thread would stray from the subject of the OP, Jim Richards would post "snow tires". Eventually, it seemed that every third or fourth post would be "snow tires" which got pretty annoying (to some). Jim explained that his comment was meant to indicate a thread gone off track or a series of irrelevant posts in a thread. Jim agreed to stop posting "snow tires" to keep us more-easily-annoyed types happy. I hope that it stays moribund.

Best,
Tom

It has something to do about the R Gruppe...getting really upset...

RWebb 03-19-2011 11:57 AM

here is how it all fits together:

many Rgroppers use spoons to help Black Audi wagons out when their snow tires are ineffective

unfortunately, several cooler heads killed my dream of owning a Black Audi Allroad wagon and I am left with Yet Another Boring...
