Teen Suicide-Help a needy family (of an old friend)
I just moved into town, and I don't know the family directly. Our kids haven't started going to the High School yet, but this being a tiny community I can imagine this isn't easy for a lot if folks.
An old friend from grade school (she is the kid's aunt and doesn't know I'm doing this) posted on facebook that the family needs help paying for the funeral and any excess funds will be donated. There was a benefit this week, but I couldn't make it. I was going to send a check but then thought maybe my Pelican friends would be able to help too. They don't have a way to donate electronically, but if anyone wants to donate $5-$10 dollars I will take a paypal donation and write a check on Friday afternoon and drop it off at the bank handling the fund. Thank you, Craig. I just can't imagine the heartbreak families go through when they lose a young child. Losing one to suicide would just paralyze me.
Make sure your kids never forget you love them. |

Brings back 25 year old memories of a former co-worker's tragic discoovery when she went home and found her 14 year old son. I played beach volleyball with both of them, and NO one suspected anything amiss. Paypal sent...RIP Dallas.

Thanks so much y'all (the secret donors too!) you guys are doing a good thing. I mentioned the suicide to my wife and she immediately mentioned something about the family having had more than its share of tragedy. I asked how she knew about the other death, and she said she didn't. Turns out there is more. I won't elaborate, but the wife is glad we are doing this.

I don't do paypal so pm me your address and I'll send you a check. As many of you know my family was hit with a couple of suicides within three days a couple years ago so it's a tragedy near to our hearts. It's such a HUGE problem in this country yet is rarely discussed. Make sure they get into a support group.. T
