Washer dryer recommendations

I'll be needing stackable, full sized, washer and dryer set in a couple of months. I'm leaning toward Bosche, since the price is right (about $2k) and my Bosche dishwasher has been outstanding. Any experience here in the PPOT brain trust?

Meile is the best hands down. I would buy a Bosch due to the price and their track record with the many appliances we have installed. I only have a few complains on any of the Bosch appliances over the years. Mostly kitchen stuff.

We've owned Whirlpool and LG front loads and had great luck with both. A lot less than the Euro brands. Most Kenmores are really just Whirlpools.

We've had a full size stacked Samsung set for about a year and a half now and are happy with them.

Electrolux Europe is different. Here they are made by Fridgidaire, in Mexico.

Not that there's anything wrong with that, just paying for the fancy door and buttons with the same guts as some Kenmores and Fridgidaires. I'm sure they work just as good and last just as long.

The stackable front-load units have given people problems. They use a lot less water and they're known for not draining all that well. YMMV. I opted for a top-loading side-by-side setup by Maytag. $200 on Craigslist like new. Been flawless.

I talked to my appliance guys. They say many of the Electrolux products have a few minor issues and advice me to talk my clients to not buy them.

Since I'm a DIY'r, next set I buy will be Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, etc so I can buy parts.

My LG dryer quit working the other day and I couldn't even buy parts. Paid the repairman $200 to fix it.

BTW, the repairman was one of one in Houston!

Kenmore (HE3) the newer ones Blow very bad

we have had consant problems with both the Kenmore HE3 washer and drier. The old top loaders were great machines we have a early 90's set in the barn.

We replaced the Kenmore Washer with an LG front loader, it works well.

The Bosch stackables are good Machines.

My 25+ year old maytag just died (came with the house, I've used it for 18 years) with no issues.

I'm replacing it with another top load maytag - they just went on sale this week at The Brick - even if I get half the use as the first one, I'll be happy

Best we ever had was Bosch, but only way we could sell the house was to let the W&D stay! Worst is what we have now, brand new LG.....Korean Krap!

All the ones I've looked at so far have the controls on the top front of the dryer. That puts them about 6 feet off the floor when the dryer is stacked. I'd have to get a new laundress if I got any of these. I haven't seen a single set that has the dryer controls on the bottom.

Maybe a little foot stool will help.

Which Bosh models are you looking at? My wife has to have the steam cycle in the dryer, and the Bosh I looked at didn't have it.

My Maytag washer lasted 3 yrs before the bearing issues appeared...they are junk!

No recommendations, but did you know the front loading ones are replacing the top loading washers due to congressionally mandated water efficiency standards, just like getting rid of traditional 100 watt light bulbs and mandating CFL's.
