Mozilla/Firefox Browser issue

So, did the recent upgrade and when I double click on a thread response to open the default browser, I get this error message.

Then it will open after a wait.

Anyone know the fix?

Since the upgrade Firefox has been wonky and running worse than IE.....

EDIT: If a FF Browser is already open, no error message.

did you have IE running when you upgraded FF ?
which FF are you running ? 4 ?
I'd suggest dumping (delete) FF make sure no other browser is open, re-install FF4

don't understand why you are getting a windows error inside a FireFox browser...
Windows should not be looking for that !

i installed FF4 on several PCs with no issue at all.
Try uninstalling it, reboot, do a system restore, reboot and reinstall it, reboot (do not open it first) and see what happens.

Google Chrome rules! I have Safari and Internet Explorer on this MacBookPro, but neither are any where NEAR as fast as Chrome. IE is just junk- it's free, that's the only thing you can say about it. Safari is slower than Chrome, and not as easy to use, same with Firefox.

N!

The new version of FF runs quite a bit faster on my machine than the older versions. Fixed a few issues I had been having as well. Weird....

FF4 seemed to be initially faster, don't like they switched the "Open Link In New Tab" and "Open Link In New Browser" around. At times, it slows to a crawl with multiple tabs open and will freeze while something is loading, then start again.

As for the original problem... I don' get what you are doing?
"...and when I double click on a thread response to open the default browser, I get this error message. "

What are you double clicking on if the browser is not open?

The problem is that when launching browsers other than IE, windows will give that error message if it takes longer then a couple seconds to launch the browser. There is a quick launch option for firefox, and if you are not using that then I would enable it. I'm at home on my mac right now, but if I were at work on my Windoze 7 machine I would be able to look up how to turn that on.

I'm running both IE and FF. I stopped FF as the default and the error message is gone.

So, when I want to run FF, I have to open it manually. It has it's advantages but on some websites it is less efficient/handy than IE.
