When it rains, it pours.

I am normally pretty good at keeping a fleet of older , less than perfect cars running. But.. last week, my side business partners explorer broke its flywheel, he comes up to my shop, picks up his 740 il, which I stored all winter, leaves, and comes back an hour later with a huge power steering leak from the rear shock area ( self leveling suspension). My parents borrow my shop beater Jeep, and somehow trigger the alarm, which WILL not disarm for some reason ( towed home) I come home from work last night, and my lady tells me that our 528 it wagon overheated on the way home. I used my dually last night to move some furniture, and the rear brake is hanging up. I went to move the dump truck and the front tire blew a vavle stem out of the tire. I am jammin' busy, and have not had a day off in 9 weeks now. I have not even started preparing my taxes, and we are knee deep into a rental house renovation.
Does it ever end?
I was planning on leaving the next two months of weekends free to tinker with the 930 to get it ready for the road, but looks as if plans have changed.
I think I am going to take up drinking again!

Damn! Good luck with all of that. That's the kind of luck that I don't want or need.

Life can be trying at times but it sure beats the alternative!

Similarly it's better to be too busy than sitting around on your ass unemployed with nothing to do but worry about money all day, like so many others out there... Perspective - it's important.

Yeah, silly double-posts. Oh well. I guess the Internet gods wanted my point to sink in.

I agree with you POP, I keep my life full of projects, and rarely ever sit on arse, but it always seems like just as I am about to clear one plate, a full course meal with desert comes my way. They say, what doesn't kill you will make you stronger. Damn, I should be a tower of strength by now!

I'm guessing that who were less than half serious about "taking up drinking again". As you probably well know, there is no problem that alcohol won't make worse. Good luck to you, Fastfred!

This May will be 5 years without drugs and alcohol. I honestly do not miss it a bit, and can barely even finish one beer now days. While I had some good times in my youth, my life is tenfold better now. I think having a child may have helped me to shed my old destructive ways. Boy could I tell you some stories though.

I hear you. I have five vehicles with mileage of 96K, 130K, 165K, 207K and infinity K. They all get driven and sometimes everything is good and sometimes its " I'm selling them all and getting new cars."

I used to do the straight out work thing, but it cost too much.
